How to teach her not to chase cars. We live in a country neighborhood and our property is not fenced. Not a lot of traffic but some each day. She is so smart and usually obedient. rnThank you.

This question is about: Toileting

I know we discussed this in our training period, but how do we keep Skipper from peeing while we're away? I'm pretty sure this happens because he gets excited or stressed when the mailman come or when the UPS truck goes by (or something else). We often come home to find that he's peed when we come home. It's always in the same one or two spots.rnWould it help if we pulled the drapes so he couldn't see?rnThank you.

This question is about: Separation Anxiety

Do bassets gave a history of S.A.? Buster has anxiety issues. He will whine and he shakes. The vet said that its attention seeking and ignore it but its hard to do. He is and always was the center of attention. What can we do? We walk him twice a day and always have play time.

This question is about: Pulling on the Lead

I adopted Nikki about a week ago at a local shelter. She was there 2 months and was picked up as a stray. She is confident, friendly, good natured, very puppyish, and seems to have come from a home with no training. She is a wonderful wild child and I love the opportunity to help her grow up to be a wonderful companion.rnrnI've had many dogs, mostly German Shepherds, but not a gun dog.rnrnMy issue with her is attention - you probably knew that. rnrnWhat will get that nose off the ground? She is very smart, a quick learner, but makes her own decisions at a level I've not worked with before. She also isn't food or toy bribed. rnrnRight now I'm looking for help with simple leash training. She has learned what is expected, but her nose eventually will find something worth the correction. She even thinks about biting thru the leash.rnrnAnyway, I appreciate your help with my wild child ...

This question is about: Toileting

I have 6 other dogs in my house and Baxter marks things on a regular basis. Is there a way to stop him from doing this? I understand that this is not a bathroom issue and that Baxter is just marking his territory but it is very annoying.
