I have a 6 month old dachshund. rnWe got him when he about 8 weeks old and started using puppy training pads and taking him out every so often. He eventually got the hang of it on his own and stopped using the potty pads but now that he is a bit older he loves going outside for hours just barking around the back yard. So now when he straches at the door or whines we don't know if it's just to go outside or if he really has to pee. We don't want to always be letting him out because there's cats around the neighborhood and we're scared he could get into a fight with them.rnso how can we fix this issue? We want to be able to tell the difference between having to go pee and just wanting to stay outside for hours.

Grizzly is very friendly towards people and dogs, the perfect canine citizen. The problem is that this all changes when I am around. He is very protective of me and will attack other dogs if they come any where near me. It also happens when we put him with the other two dogs in the backyard. They will be fine until I step outside, then he will attack the other dogs. I consider myself to be dog savvy but do not know how to solve this other than using a muzzle.

I have two dachshunds. My oldest is 3 his name is Gunner. The younger is 2 his name is Cooper. They are both neutered. Ive had Gunner since he was a year and Cooper since he was about 4 months.since weve had them barking has always been a problem. Whenever someone comes over they will bark constantly at them even if they are not moving. The same thing happems with other dogs especially big ones. We moved into a new house with a roomate about a month ago and they are finally getting used to my roomate (kinda) but still go crazy if she moves to much or if they see her dog.is there anything I can do to get them to stop barking at new people and dogs so I can take them to new places like dog parks and out in public.
