This question is about: Aggression to a dog or other animal or where the dog is aggressive to the owner or a stranger Barking at people, dogs, animals, birds or where the dog barks for attention or at the slightest noise

For the last two weeks I've had a problem with my lab. When I sit down on the couch she comes up to me and starts barking in my face. If I ignore her she starts growling and then will proceed to bite my feet or my legs. I've tried telling her to stop and the only thing she does is get worse. I've tried telling her no and pushing her away and it still gets worse. I've tried a form of timeout and the only thing that does and put it off until I let her out and then when I sit down again it happens over again. She does this about 2 or 3 times a day and I can't figure out how to stop it. Please help me!

This question is about: Aggression to a dog or other animal or where the dog is aggressive to the owner or a stranger

I just brought Bella home. I already own a shih tzu mix male 6 years old named Sammy. She's only been here 2 days but they will fight over food, toys and mostly me. Bella wants to be on my lap all the time and if Sammy comes to close she'll snap at him. I want to fix it, I'd love if they could be best friends and really don't want to have to give her back. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

This question is about: Jumping up at visitors or the dog jumps up at people on walks

Jasper is an awesome dog, he loves everyone including all other animals. He rarely barks even when all the neighborhood dogs are barking he is quiet. rnrnHe has never chewed anything in our home from the time he was 9 weeks old and we brought him home. He simply seems to know on his own that he only plays with his toys.rnrnHe was fully housed trained in two days with only one accident in the home. rnrnHe loves to play ball and I mean LIVES to play ball. fetch and catch. Unlike most Labrador's his food is secondary to playing for him. You could hand him the biggest steak in the world, he would drop it in an instant if you showed him a tennis ball.rnrnWe have a large fenced in yard and we play fetch with him for a couple of hours each day. I could go on and on here but he is truly an awesome dog. And we have had dogs our entire lives from puppy to the rainbow bridge.rnrnWe have one problem.... Jasper gets crazy excited when people come to our house or he meets new people, he jumps and goes generally happy nuts. We have successfully trained him not to do this many times the problem is that it can be months in between him understanding not to do this before someone comes to our house again. rnrnWe do not have children, our family lives out of state and most of our friends are in Florida where we lived for several years before moving back to the Greater Cincinnati area. We can't figure out how to train Jasper to greet people calmly when he will have such infrequent reinforcement of the training. rnrnHe loves the Vets office like this as well he gets so overly excited that even with his no pull harness he wants to love on everyone and at 95lbs it's impossible to control the exuberance.rnrnJasper was the star of his puppy classes and we had a trainer for 6 weeks as well... everyone loves him and says he truly one of a kind. The neighbors all have dogs and always comment on how awesome he is, their kids love Jasper... but to him they are not new people. We work from home so Jasper is alone rarely. When people come we are unable to to settle him down but we can say you have to go to your crate and he will pout (tail and head down) but will go all the way upstairs to his room and go to his crate so even in the middle of the excitement he will listen but seems to simply forget his heel, stay commands. How do we reinforce training when it's months between learning and a new person/people. We have tried taking him to dog parks thinking there will be other people but their is rarely anyone at the parks that are anywhere near our home. We want to be able to take Jasper around people, have people in ur home and have him be able to enjoy being part of the activity while people can enjoy him versus being jumped on etc...
