This question is about: Separation Anxiety

whats the best way to help with separation anxiety? Vette is an 8yr old pug. I have had him since we was 6 wks old. All his life someone has been "home." My fiance and I just purchased our first home and now going to work is a stressful situation for us as we do not know what we are going to come home to. He has torn and chewed threw our blinds in the living room and kitchen. Has had housebreaking accidents. I do not believe in the kennel. I have tried it in the past and he "freaks" out. I am afraid that if i just up and put him in one and we leave he may do harm to himself out of fear or anxiety. What can my fiance and i do to help our loved pup but have our brand new house stay that way!

This question is about: Barking at people, dogs, animals, birds or where the dog barks for attention or at the slightest noise

Eva has a barking problem. About eighteen months ago, my sister was almost mugged near where we live. Eva was with her and barked at the mugger, allowing them both to get away. However, since then Eva barks at everyone she sees outside our building. It isn't a problem when I take her to the park - she only does this close to home, and the people she barks at include our neighbors, who think she might bite them. Eva's a very sweet dog otherwise, and we've tried distraction, teaching her a couple of commands, and treats. Nothing seems to work, and we don't want to resort to a muzzle.

This question is about: Recall or not coming when called Other

I've worked hard training Milo and if I'm diligent and consistent my efforts usually pay off, but I cannot seem to break him of one habit. I go out to run with him and we have lots of trails where he is off leash but we'll behaved, but when we get to a reservoir which has a trail around it, he inevitably jumps into the dirty water. Hes already gotten giardia once from this reservoir. I've tried treats, positive reinforcement, and when he does jump in then i immediately put him on leash and we go straight home. I don't make eye contact or give him attention for a few hrs, although I have to give him a bath....is there another strategy? Or am I doomed to never using this particles trail?

This question is about: Destructive chewing that results in destruction of furniture, woodwork etc Jumping up at visitors or the dog jumps up at people on walks Other

Hello, we are trying to kennel train our puppy since she wont stop chewing on items when we leave and we got her a low volt bark collar because when we first started training her she would bark and whine so loudly that she could be heard outside while she was left in the kennel upstairs. We can't get her to stop whining. It is constant from the second we put her in there and since she chews on items if we are on high alert she also sleeps in the kennel so at night she is keeping both of us up. It's understandable that when we let her out that she is excited and wants to greet us but I'm currently 8 months pregnant and we are worried that she will jump up and hurt the baby. We really don't want to have to give her up but these issues are a huge concern for when the baby does arrive and this is pretty much our last resort.

This is not a behavioral issue... I am just trying to locate our membership # with Bark Busters so now that we have moved to a new location I can use our lifetime membership for some help with our dogs. I keep getting looped to the local trainer and I think ideally I would speak with someone in the records department please?rnrnThanks, Kathy Davis
