This question is about: Barking at people, dogs, animals, birds or where the dog barks for attention or at the slightest noise Destructive chewing that results in destruction of furniture, woodwork etc Separation Anxiety

I have a really good dog and we have no problem with him but when we have friends come over he gets completely crazy, so much so that we cant keep him out of the crate when we have company! Also when we take him on a walk he is very unpredictable and we can never tell when he is going to snap at someone! We Love him and we were hoping that someone could help us. Whenever we take him for training he is the most well behaved dog and people do not really understand what we are saying! He goes to play groups and has never had any issues with other dogs or the people that take care of him there. Its only when my husband and me are around that he sometimes loses it on people who he doesn't know. Please help me understand why he acts the way he does?

This question is about: Toileting Other

Hello there!rnrnMy dog has recently developed a fear of going out into the back yard to go to the bathroom. I think this happened (although not right away) because she opened a door and got trapped in a room that leads to the outdoors one day when I was at work. She has slowly become more and more stubborn about going outside so that now she just lays down, cowers, and urinates on the floor.rnrnI have tried dragging her out, which I quickly learned wasn't going to work. I then tried coaxing her slowly to the area. Each time took a step towards the threshold, I rewarded her and praised her. If she crossed the threshold I gave her extra treats and more praise. This worked for a while, although she was still reluctant. Now, the treats aren't even helping. She gets to the threshold, turns around, runs to her crate, and urinates in there. rnrnI'm at a loss as to what else I can try. I don't want her thinking it's ok to go to the bathroom in the house, but I'm not sure how to get her to go outside either!rnrnAny help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.rnrnThanks!rnrnAmy

This question is about: Toileting

My girlfriend's ex-husband bought four Italian Greyhounds and a Chihuahua during their relationship. The first two had been potty trained, the third may have been, and the last two were not potty trained. They're between 6-9 yrs old, I believe.rnWe own a house and they will go to the bathroom and mark inside the house and I'm trying to prevent this, even after having just let them outside. We cage them when we're not home. They prefer to go outside and my temporary fix has been leaving our back door open whenever we are home during the day but they'll still occasionally mark inside.rnI don't have any dog training experience and I'm looking for the most effective solution.
