We adopted Shorti from a breeder where she was kenneled most of the time. They were going to use her for breeding but a vet told them she was to small for that (that's what we were told). She's very smart and very loving to humans but wants to attack anything that moves or doesn't move (dog/cat statues). We have recently moved into a home where she has to be walked several times a day (no yard) and we cant let her even walk by someone else walking there dog or she loses her mind. She pushed open the screen door one evening, ran out and attacked another dog. I was able to grab her before any damage was done. Tonight we came home, opened the door and she welcomed us. Before the door was completely closed she spotted the neighbor and their dog across the street. Before we could catch her she took off in attack mode across the street. We yelled for her to stop and come back but its like she snaps and doesn't comprehend anything. Thank goodness the neighbor got into her porch and shut the door before Shorti got there. We're afraid she is going to hurt another animal and that's not something we can be responsible for. We only had her a few months now and don't want to just give up on her. My question is; do you think a behavior class will benefit this type of behavior?

I have a 5week old kitten that i have been hand raising ,and i also have 2 dogs a male andfemale .my male dog follows what the female does, but does not really have much intrest in. the kitten so when im with or without the kitten rosey stalks me while licking her lips. I should mention that they have killed 2 of the neighbours cats that jumped over the fence ,and a bunny that was staying with us temporarily. These dogs don't have any aggression at all.i would like to know is there anything i can do to make it safe for the kitten or will my best option be to adopt him out. I would love to keep him however id like to know if there would be any hope of my dogs excepting a new house mate . Thank you!

Hi, we adopted bug when he was 18months old and he is a very affectionate dog the majority of the time. When he is sleeping on the sofa or the bed and only in the afternoon, he becomes aggressive if woken up. He starts snarling and lunging at us until we put him on the floor. We believed it to be dominant behavior, which is why we have started putting him down when he starts. It seems to be getting worse, though.

My sister is home for the holidays and brought her 6 month old Lab (Brooks). We have two dogs, a 2 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix (Luna) and a 10 year old Shepard mix (Scout). Brooks and Luna get along great and play together non-stop, but Scout is very protective over Luna and will not stop barking and growling when they play. We have been restraining her and holding her mussel, but it is not seeming to influence her behavior. Is there a more productive method we should be using so she does not experience this anxiety when Luna and Brooks are playing?
