Athena is a great dog, she is full of love and is my not so little shadow. However, she is a tornado! She has torn up pillows, blankets and clothes. And now she has eaten wood trim around the apartment, scratched and chewed on cabinets and even made holes in the walls... She used to be crated, around 3 months but we noticed how well she used to do outside of her crate and stopped. About a month ago, she began tearing things up. rnShe is only alone from 9am until about 1, I come home on my break from work and feed her and let her out and love on her, and then when I go back to work my fiancé is there within the next 2 hours. Altogether, she's alone for about 6 hours a day during the week. I know she's young and this breed is prone to separation anxiety, but do you have any helpful tips?? I just ordered her a 54 inch crate but I'm afraid she'll tear out of the thing!

Hi, My dog has horrible anxiety when going anywhere outside of my home. I can't even take him for a walk unless it's dark and there is no one around. I have tried taking him to pet stores to socialize him, but he gets incredibly stressed to the point where his eyes get bloodshot from being too stressed. What do you suggest?

My husband and I recently got a shelter dog, a healer. He is very sweet with me and our other puppy ( who is a boxer) however he tends to get aggressive towards my husband. He has lunged at him several times showing teeth. We are concerned for my husbands safety and are afraid to bring Jake around children. He also regularly goes after the cat. We are at a loss for how to proceed. We don't want get rid of him however if this behavior continues we may not have another choice. Please help

hi, so i have had my Dachshund since she was a puppy and was brought into a house with another dog. she instantly bonded with this dog and became good friends until i had to move and could not bring that dog with me. my dachshund became friends with my families dog a Chihuahua and are now very good friends and playful. about 6 months ago a family member found a 5 year old cat who had previously been owned but had been living under there house for some time. they gave the cat to me and my boyfriend where we spent at least a month rehabilitating him in a room by himself and then moved him into our studio apartment with my Dachshund. there is no aggression or hostility between them but i see that my cat is constantly trying to play with my dog or wrestle or just learn my dogs boundaries. but my Dachshund always ignores the cat or just walks away! i am wondering if you guys could offer me any ways to establish a friendlier relationship with my cat and dog to where they might want to play together or become friends.
