Hello, rnrnMy wife and I have rescued a miniature poodle or Bichon. We are thinking of having the DNA done to find out. He is 6 years old we were told.rnrnCarter was rescued from we were told a not so nice breeding “farm”. We rescued him in October.rnrnCarter has made huge “strides” in his new home. We think part of it is from the other dog we have a Shih Tzu Lhasa apso mix. He has learned so much from him and us. He was using a dog door the 1st day we got him and understood his name; and after a few weeks would come to you when you called him. He is a very bright dog.rnrnMy only concerns are that Carter is afraid of me when it comes to putting his collar/harness on and me petting him. He runs away or curls around behind my wife. rnrnHe takes snacks from me, comes when he is called, walks on a leash with me; understand my commands but allowing me to come up to him is still a challenge. rnrnWe tried having me sitting down; laying down, my wife holding him and even me holding a snack out for him, but after almost 6 months he is still fearful. rnrnWill he always disapprove of me?

Soph pees on her bedding and after I take her out and bring her back in, 20 minutes later pees on carpet. Does not smell around just does it. Got her from apartment people that kept her in 2x2 cage, didn't think at the time that she lived in cage full time, beginning to wonder. She had a uti when I got her. Almost finished course of antibiotics. I do not think UTI is the problem now. Is there any hope?

EVERY time my friend takes ollie out to potty,to go to the car, anything that involves her getting her coat on and putting his leach in her hands(that says she IS going with him) he still barks and jumps and it sounds distressing and pathetic and sad as if she's leaving him. how can we get him to stop being so upset?

We have had our dog since she's been a puppy. She is a very loving, kind dog. unfortunately we have an issue with her barking and nipping at people esp men when the come into the house. She also tends to bark a lot at other kids, not our own. She does not like to walk she seems to be afraid. She is great w/ other animals and enjoys playing outside. She is great w/ us and our 2 children. We are just worried she may hurt someone. It seems like she is protecting us in some way, but we need to get this behavior under control..Any suggestions would be great.
