McGee seems friendly but I've noticed he can get a bit shy. At the vet a few weeks ago he was great during exam and with all the workers at the office. He was diagnosed with kennel cough. I took him to the front desk in his leash and he was between the counter and a wall. An older rather strange woman came in with a cast in her arm and she stuck her arm with the cast by his nose. He sniffed, then backed up and growled at her. She admonished him in a low growly voice and he then barked. Really had no way to get away from her. I just walked out with him but the incident scared me. I have never seen this before. What am I dealing with here?

My dog is over protective. Around men especially, he will growl and run towards them. I use a squirt bottle when he barks or growls but he still snaps on walks. Is there anything else I should be doing?

I have been training my dog with a short lease into not pulling, he seems to understand it now. He doesn't understand that he can't jump on random people on the street. He sees them from far away and crouches down and watches them. Once they get closer he jumps at them. He doesn't the same thing when someone comes home or someone comes over and visits. I have tried holding the leash down, holding him down, talking to him even try hitting him, I hate to say that. He just becomes so excited and excited to see someone. How can I control this urge he has to jump on everyone? Thank you.

My 1 year old 66 pound olde english bulldogge barks very aggressively and lunges when she someone comes into our yard or if our neighbors talk to us. At first she would fear them and run away from them but now she lunges toward them. Her bark alone scares them and her hair stands up on her back. She is the biggest baby and I am almost certain that she just fears them. At first she would run away from people but now she barks and lunges. She has never shown any aggression to any stray dog that comes into our yard, only people. She is fine when she goes to the groomer monthly. She has never shown any signs of aggression to us or our 3 young children.
