Lucy is a very well behaved, quiet sweet toy poodle who loves almost everybody. But she seems to have an issue with my boyfriend. She will jump in his lap and be excited when he comes over. But if he tries to pick her up she cries. And if he talks to her she cries at him. She cowers when he walks by her. I know he spanked her once when she pottied on the carpet in front of him, but other than that, there have been no issues. Could he have spanked her too hard and she remembers? How do I get her to trust him? Is she sensing something I don't know?

My dog Mia has some anxiety issues that we have been working on, but in the past few months, at night time she will growl softly at you if you go to kiss her or go near her face. At first we thought it was because she didn't like you. But we've realised that if you talk to her and calm her down, she'll stop growling and let you cuddle her. She's all happy and fine during the day time she loves being kissed and cuddled. Her growl isn't a near bite threat, it's more of a soft warning growl. We have no idea why she's doing it and would like some help with her please :)

Whenever i put the leash on my pup she becomes stone stiff in the sit position and when i try to get her to move she just jerks back trying to get out. So far i've tried everything i could think of her favorite treats, moving around alot running around her as well as being vocally encouraging to giving her a little push on the back to see if i can get her to at least want to stand. all of her training has also been done on leash but indoors so this problem started occuring when i decided to move it outdoors to start taking her on walks. So how do i fix this?

i adopted an 8 yr old male blind shih tzu into our home of a 12yr old female shih tzh and 10 yr old female labradoodle. the adjustment with the shih tzu hasn't been challenging. she seems to ignore him, although the labradoodle is still being intolerant. the labradoodle growls and at times is aggressive. it's been over a month and we thought she would be more excepting by now. the fact that he is blind he's often caught off guard when the labradoodle tries to bite him. in the past, the labradoodle has always been a passive dog...except barks at strangers. we had a household of four dogs, and the labradoodle was the youngest until we adopted this blind dog. please help me with any suggestions you might have in modifying the unacceptable behavior of our labradoodle

Our dog has always been very sweet, has never shown her teeth or growled at anyone. Something happened where she got hurt from my oldest child. We don't know exactly what or when it was but our dog now anticipates this and has been snapping/biting my daughter's hand. Even if she's just petting her or goes to pick her up. I'm not sure how to change this behavior. My kids are very gentle with her. They are 9 and 6.
