This question is about: Barking at people, dogs, animals, birds or where the dog barks for attention or at the slightest noise

Hello, my name is Sophia Kljajic and I've been having some issues with my dog and barking. When we first got him from the shelter about four years this wasn't much of an issue, but now he will bark at both dogs and people. It's a little odd since whether he barks or not seems to differ based on the situation. For example if I'm out walking him he is fine with people passing by. However, if a stranger tries to pet him he will start barking. It's the same when we suddenly find ourselves surrounded by a large group of strangers, especially if it is loud. This also happens when people are having parties in neighboring backyards, but he stops when we bring him inside. He will also bark at people who enter the house, especially if they try to touch him but after a while he will stop and eventually melt into a cuddly mess in their lap. Another issue is barking at dogs. Oddly enough he is usually fine with smaller dogs, especially if he has seen them around before. He has a little poodle friend who belongs to a family friend and gets along well enough with the neighbor's terrier. Typically when I walk him he doesn't seem to care much about smaller dogs as long as there's some distance and they don't run up to him. He rarely barks at them. The issue is with larger dogs. Even from a distance he is already looking at them and may even start growling, whining or barking even if the other dog isn't approaching. I'm not sure how he would react to larger dogs outside the neighborhood, but he has had some experiences with them. We took him to a dog park once and he seemed alright as long as the other dogs didn't crowd him too much, but we didn't let him in with the bigger dogs (after all he's only about 17 pounds). He didn't seem to mind them across the fence though. We sometimes take him to an open mall nearby and have even taken him about two hours north to Naples. In the mall there usually aren't that many large dogs, but in Naples we did run into a few. He was interested in them and started growling a little at a few that got closer, but he didn't really bark like he would back at home. As for having other dogs in the house, the only two dogs that have ever come here were smaller dogs that belonged to friends. One is the toy poodle and another was a miniature pinscher, so I am not sure how he would react to that either. When he was younger, before the barking started, he used to play with two golden retrievers that live nearby. Now he barks at them too sometimes. I'm not really sure what to do. I tried walking him with treats ranging from chicken to pumpkin seeds (which he really likes for some reason) and it works for people who walk by, but when there are other dogs around sometimes even the treats don't get his attention. I also don't really know anyone who has a larger dog that could help with training Max to stop barking at them. It might be territorial behaviour and I'm not really sure how to stop him from barking.

He is potty trained already and goes outside, my husband decided to leave him in the living room while we were at work today and have all the other doors shut off and he came home on lunch to check on him and he pooped everywhere and tore up a lot of stuff even though we picked up alot he still found stuff. What is the best way to keep him for tearing up my house? Would crate training him be okay?

My puppy Leo will not stop biting. when you try to pet him he thinks it's play time and try's to bite you and chew on your hand. And he will not stop chewing on items besides your hand. But me and my boyfriend have tried everything to get him to stop. He just doesn't get it. He also won't stop popping in the house and we've tried this new method and it's called not everything in life is free and it is where when he goes outside he does not get to come back in until he's pooped and peed and we stay outside with him so he doesn't go under the fence but we've also stayed inside too but it gets to the point were hes been Outside for almost an hour and he doesn't poop and we bring him back inside and not even two minutes later he poops in the house. And he just won't stop.
