We know first hand just how difficult it can be, especially here in Austin, Texas. We were once sitting right where you are today. Soon after welcoming our dream dog (Jerry) into our home, we feared we had bitten off more than we could chew. Jerry had us by the pads of his paws and he knew it! He was running the show, calling the shots, yet we couldn’t even get the guy to pay rent.

For us, choosing Bark Busters was the best decision we could have made for both Jerry and our family. We were blown away by the results after only the first visit, but continued to work closely with Lori Carr over the years. Don't walk, run to work with Bark Busters. Please read my review if you relate to any crate-anxiety issues.

Here's my story: I have a puppy GSD who's shockingly lazy, but his shepherdation (separation) anxiety was really out of control to the point where he could break out of his crate AND open my front door.

I would describe myself as highly dog knowledgable so I am VERY particular about the methods used by trainers. To each their own, but e-collars, prongs, etc are band-aids (or worseners) for most problems since most dog-owners don't really understand the timing/utility of these tools enough to ween off of them at any point. If your dog is a 100/10 lunatic, then I guess I get it :|

Anywho, I was honestly shocked to learn they don't even rely on clickers or treats, just straight up dog behavior and psychology, yet have the reviews they have.

Here's my summary. I am only 2 days post training, have received a comprehensive training plan with new crate recs, have gotten 5-7 minutes of a CALM dog in his crate once I've left (a miracle), and did nothing but learn to amend MY body languages and sounds.

Bonus that Anthony was an absolute delight to work with.

"Amazing results!! I can’t believe the transformation in my sweet boy, Wrangler! I have an Australian Shepherd who was very reactive, aggressive and really scared of people. Anthony and his team were able to train me to be the leader of the pack. I have tried boarding, shock collars and everything under the sun before Bark Busters, and all other methods seemed to just increase his aggressive tendencies. Turns out I needed the training! I am now able to introduce Wrangler to strangers, greatly reduce his reactivity and start to show the world the dog that I love so much. As a veterinarian I could not be more impressed with dog trainers Anthony and Jessica of Bark Busters West Austin .My dogs have responded incredibly well to their clear, simple , concise and easy to follow dog training methods. They have only had 2 lessons and are already doing so much better . They are happier and better adjusted ,are so much easier to walk on a leash and are much better behaved when guests come over . We knew we were inviting chaos when we went from one dog (Manu) to three dogs.
Our rescue pup, Pepper, had some bad habits after life on the streets. We knew we had a lot of trauma to unpack with her. We inherited another pup, Peaches, from a family that needed to re-home her due to life changes. Peaches already had some training, but was started to have troubling behavior when she realized she's the biggest of the three.
But after just TWO weeks using Bark Busters methods with Lori, they all had made so much progress! Pepper is already more relaxed, easy going, and learning that walking on a leash doesn't have to be a struggle. Peaches is learning that the humans are in charge, she only needs to worry about being cute. Which means she isn't snapping at the others.
Manu is just happier that the younger two girls aren't pestering him as much.

I have a 7 month old Pitbull who is friendly but super energetic.

I got to a point where I worried he wouldn’t be able to be trained properly.

I’m grateful Lori was able to work with us. She is very knowledgeable and my roommates and I were shocked at the results we saw within a couple of hours on the first day.

We’ll share more results as the weeks unfold, but I can report we saw results within five minutes! I’m dead serious. That’s all it took for the new homo sapien pack leaders to emerge. The very first exercise laid the ground work for everything that followed and the transformation was, and has been phenomenal. We’ve spent thousands of dollars on training over the last five years on our precious Darby to no avail - she just isn’t treat motivated. And that’s the point, she wasn’t looking for a treat, she wanted a pack leader. After the first session she now walks on a loose leash for the first time ever. I can’t tell you what a relief that is. Instead of a “fur baby” we have a more balanced pet, which is as it should be. We’ll continue to reinforce the method and give a more thorough review later, but if this behavior continues it will be worth every penny. Thank you Lori - you were awesome!

5 month update!
I can’t begin to relate how much improvement and progress we have seen in Darby since the first day Lori worked with her. It was such a relief to have a more responsive pet - one that would actually listen and react to our needs. But as we settled into the Bark Buster method we felt additional instruction was warranted to continue the improvement. Lori was very responsive and through that effort we were able to take Darby to the next level. To say I was skeptical of what Lori said we could achieve is a major understatement, but we did. I still can’t believe it. Darby has been the most challenging pet we have ever had, but also the most endearing. The training has resulted in an even more loyal and loving relationship and for that we are eternally grateful.

I have a 7-month old Pitbull that's super friendly but very energetic. I was concerned he wouldn't be capable of learning but after only 2 hours with Lori, my roommates and I were impressed with the results.

I'm almost done with week 1 of working on our daily homework and he just keeps getting better. I'm excited to see how he will be months from now.

A few short weeks ago, our 4 dogs (yes 4, it’s a long story) were completely out of control. I couldn’t walk in my front door without being jumped on and scratched from ankle to hip. They barked uncontrollably at every knock and doorbell ring (including the perceived ring of Uber Eats commercials that were clearly contrived by cat owners). They rushed the door, crowded us when we sat down to dinner, the list goes on. All the “bad” dog behavior you can think of, they did it. And most critically, they began to fight. When we added the 4th dog to our long time pack of 3, chaos ensued as they attempted to figure out the pecking order. The newest (and youngest) addition began to challenge the alpha matriarch. We knew we had to make a change when one was seriously injured (don’t worry dear readers, she is happy and healthy now). We were consumed by guilt. How could we, experienced and long time dog owners, have failed so miserably? First, we reached out to a local trainer recommended by our vet. Much to our shock, before conducting any training or assessments, they told us rehoming was the only option. Devastated, we sought a second opinion and found Lori online. And let me tell you, this woman is an answer to our prayers. After the first training session, we felt empowered to restore harmony in our home by taking command of our pack. The “bahh” (you’ll know when you know) took some getting used to, but by the end of the session we saw massive behavior improvement that has only continued each day with consistent (and frankly easy) training. Lori taught us how to “speak dog” and be the leaders of our pack. Not only are we happier, but our dogs are clearly happier too. They look to us for direction instead of fighting amongst themselves. And our most perfect alpha matriarch (who is a tripod by the way) is finally at ease without the pressure of keeping everyone in line. Lori changed our lives and never once made us feel like bad dog owners. You won’t regret the decision to welcome her into your home.

I cannot say enough about Lori and Bark Busters! My 8 yr old mini-schnauzer George is a new “man”. George’s issues: he always been very insecure, which turned into being VERY reactionary with other dogs and started to aggressively protect me even with family and friends he knew well. In the past, I’ve taken George to highly recommended trainers, classes, drop off training, walked at “off” hours to avoid others, we’ve done behavior treats, behavior deterrents etc. 
One 3 hour session with Lori- he hasn’t barked once at another dog or neighbor on our walks. I have his attention without treats, without punishment, without raising my voice. The Bark Busters method works. What I LOVE is the maintenance or reinforcement occurs all day long during our normal routine. I am not setting aside time to “train” him. We do it all day long. Lori is amazing! I got my first rescue dog & he had major anxiety and was so scared of men. It was obvious he had been abused, I had never owned a dog like that. He was so sweet to me & my daughter, but anyone else or other animals he would act like a ferocious beast. Anytime I had company he would literally bark non stop. Lori was absolutely AMAZING. I have 2 dogs that were fighting multiple times a day that resulted in me getting severely injured. I had tried everything and she was my last hope. I was petrified I would have to give one of my dogs away. Lori spent 3 hours with me and my dogs and when she left I couldn't believe how they different they were. We started working with Lori about one month ago and have already seen incredible changes in our dog, Eddie! He is a 6 year old chihuahua mix with separation anxiety issues and aggression towards new people. My 4 lb Chihuahua puppy was the meanest dog I had ever owned. She would growl and bite anyone who came near her or me and that’s including family members. She would start fights and even injure other dogs if I couldn’t get to her quick enough. I was starting to believe she was born with a brain injury. She would start fights. She has bitten strangers. Such an eye opening experience!!!!! My dog Blanca was very reactive when she saw other dogs and people. Barking, lunging, growling, crying. It was a huge discouraging and embarrassing display that forced me to schedule walks early mornings and late night when I was least likely to run into other dogs/people. Even then, I would come home feeling defeated by her reactions. I was on the verge of giving up on being able to happily walk her. Within minutes of my first visit with Lori, she taught me how to communicate with Blanca in a way that commanded an immediate response. Not only did I gain confidence in taking lead with Blanca both at home and during walks, but she is learning to check in with me. Our walks are no longer timed, and I enjoy taking her out. Our relationship is stronger and she is learning to trust me and my response when we are out, rather then reacting.
