While in the process of researching business opportunities, a new dog came into my life and made the household a little bit happier. Cody, a Great Pyrennees, was found limping along a highway somewhere in Tennessee, brought to a vet who treated his broken knee, and was living with a foster family (who also owned other Pyrenees) in Massachusetts. We were approved for his adoption, and the Great Pyrenees rescue organization arranged for his delivery to us in Langhorne. Cody now feels very content in his new "pack."
Having rescued all of the dogs that I previously owned and training each of them to understand the rules of the new house, it all fell into place when the Bark Busters opportunity presented itself. Here was a business that allowed me to work with man's best friend and the chance to do something I believe in: preventing otherwise good pets from being needlessly abandoned or destroyed for lack of training.
As a dog behavioral therapist and trainer, I can evaluate a dog's unwanted behavior, determine its underlying cause, and stop that behavior by training the dog (and teaching the owners how to communicate more effectively with their dog), all in the dog's home. The training methods are completely non-physical, stressing natural canine instincts and communication.
I also educate the owners so that they understand how to relate better to their dogs so they can then experience the joy and harmony of having obedient, relaxed dogs in their family.
My goal is to help create happier homes with happy dogs as well-adjusted family members.
What my clients say about Bark Busters . . .
We have used other trainers and methods, but we felt most comfortable with Bark Busters and its training methods. I saw the best results with Bark Busters.

Steve was very good to us and our dogs. It almost seemed like he knew what the dogs were thinking. He taught us to understand our dogs and because of that, we were able to teach our dogs to do what we wanted. Thank you, Steve, for helping us to teach our little guys to behave. It was fun and a pleasure to have you as our dog therapist.

how we can help you and your dog
The Bark Busters Home Dog Training Methods helps solve dog behavior issues such as aggression towards people or other animals
- Cure embarrassing habits like barking, jumping up on people, scratching & whining at doors or inappropriate toileting.
- Create an obedient dog or puppy that will happily walk on the lead without tugging, sit or stay on command, and come immediately when called.
- Set off-limit areas for your dog.
- Reduce the stress of separation anxiety without the need for sedatives or drugs.
We teach you to communicate with your pet.
Blah, blah, blah, bad dog! blah blah. Do you think your dog isn't listening to you? Maybe you're simply not speaking his language. You may have heard of dog whisperer or dog listener techniques. The Bark Busters dog training method is based on the way dogs communicate with each other and how they learn from older, more important dogs in the pack. This is what makes our dog training unique and effective.
Why do we train in your home?
Your dog lives with a family, in a home. This is where he misbehaves most often so this is where training is most effective. Dogs learn by association. Bark Busters teaches your dog to listen in the home environment. If he does not listen at home, he will not listen outside your territory.
Training in your home is a one-on-one system without the distraction of other dogs or the stress of being sent away for training.
Of course, where you are experiencing problems outside the home such as pulling on the lead or dog aggression, we will set up controlled training situations in the park or wherever is most practical.
