What our Clients are saying about us
I was beginning to despair because my dog was so aggressive when I had guests over. She would bark the entire time they were there and scare many of my guests. Anne gave me several training techniques to correct Willow and the next time I had guests over, they forgot Willow was there. She barked once the last time and I corrected her and that was it. It's been great!Julie B., Parkville, MarylandJune 10 2017
We got our 17 month lab 5 weeks ago from the shelter. He has been a good dog except that he would not get in the car. We travel often and wanted the dog to go with us. This was a serious problem. Anne came out today and was able to get the dog in her car and then in our car in response to treats. Our dog liked and responded to Anne well. Anne got him to go in and out of the car quickly. It was incredible. She left us with directions on how to continue the car training. We would recommend her.Eileen W., Baltimore, MarylandFebruary 11 2017
I am amazed at what Ann was able to teach my husband and I in just three hours. Our 3&1/2 year old border collie mix, Coco, is calm and easily redirected when she starts to bark at cars and other dogs. I've been to 2 other trainers and was not happy with their promotion of the use of radio collars and prong collars. With a well-fit harness and a few simple instructions, we were able to loose-leash walk Coco and curb her maniacal barking. I'm really impressed. And grateful.Felicia C., Baltimore, MarylandFebruary 8 2017
I was referred to Bark Busters by my vet's office after they noticed a change in my moody mini dachshund, Sammy. I had Sammy for two years before I adopted a second rescue mini dachshund, Harley. I moved into an apartment complex and both dogs were very barky. Sammy was extra aggressive and had gotten into some fights with dogs, and had even bit my lip as I broke up a fight. Harley was very shy and would have howling panic attacks. Plus when I took a shower she would poop. Oh... And neither one of them listened very well at all. I was frustrated and worried and wanted the dogs to behave better. After Anne George came something finally clicked. I learned how to "speak dog" per se. I received tools, tips, and guided practice on modifying behaviors. Anne is so great, she never made me feel inadequate and always gave me positive encouragement. I'm proud to say one day, as I was walking my dogs... I heard a stray dog running toward us. I think it may have intended to be friendly, but my dachshunds do not take kindly to strange dogs. I heard the dog coming and before Sammy or Harley could react, I acted and "BAHed" once, then twice. The dog stopped and walked away. It was incredible. I'm also happy to say that my doxies really respond to the training methods. If you want to know how to manage, train, and discipline your dogs in "dog language" effectively I highly recommend Anne George and Bark Busters.Katie V., Baltimore, MarylandAugust 19 2016
Anne was a lifesaver! Although we tried to prepare for our new puppy we were unaware of exactly how we should lead her. It quickly became apparent that Zelda had separation anxiety and hated being confined in her crate. Couple that with a lot of other passive behaviors we were inadvertently allowing and the first week with our new puppy was extremely stressful, especially for me since I work from home! Anne spent a good bit of time on the phone with me giving advice and then was able to fit us in at the last minute on a Friday afternoon. This was the best thing that could have happened to us because it allowed us to work with Zelda through the weekend. Even though we noticed results immediately and continued progress throughout the weekend it is still overwhelming when your puppy starts to cry/howl a lot. At one point I was very stressed out and pessimistic and right at that moment of breaking down, Anne called to check in to see how Zelda fared over the weekend. Her quick chat cheered me up and encouraged me to stick with it. It was a huge help just knowing that we were doing the right things but it takes time. :) Throughout my interactions with Anne, she brought a wealth of knowledge about the way a dog thinks and ways to encourage the behavior that we want. I can't say enough positive things about Anne! I would highly recommend her.Nancy C., Baltimore, MarylandMarch 10 2015

Wow what a difference! When I first called Anne, I was beyond frustrated. She could hear my anxiety and frustration in my phone call and called me back within 5 minutes of leaving a message. She came out that very afternoon. I had a 12 week old lab, that I would take outside, and he would go to the bathroom and immediately come back in and pee on the carpet. Within just a few hours of her arriving at my house, I learned techniques to stop this and within a few days we were completely accident free. Then the puppy started getting bigger, and I was tackling bigger problem - pulling on the leash. Again, Anne came to the rescue, and taught us how to walk on the leash, properly use a harness, and again we saw an immediate difference. After just a few days he was walking well enough on the leash to go out on the long walks he loves and needs (to burn off all that labrador puppy energy). Anne also taught us successful use of the crate. Anne responds almost immediately to questions about biting/chewing, jumping up. I look forward to a long relationship with her as we encounter each stage of Ryder.

I adopted a rescue 4-yr-old Jack Russell terrier and he barked constantly, starting at 7:00 A.M. and ending about 7:00 P.M. I tried 3 trainers to no avail and decided Bark Busters would be my last attempt to cure Ace of his barking.Anne George spent hours at my house on May 29th,working with me and instructing me in my home on measures to correct this problem and others.Today, one day later, Ace has barked 3 short times, and I am amazed that I was able to establish so much control over him in just one day. I'm certain that following Anne's detailed instructions, Ace and I will have a great time together. They surely live up to their name Bark Busters!

Anne exhibits a deft intimacy with canine knowledge that pervades behavior, character, and development. Her techniques, explanations, and methodology are superlative examples of humane and effective dog training.
We had a rescue husky who challenged our authority, routinely barking all night, asserting dominance over our spaces, and disregarding our commands. We met Anne on a Saturday afternoon and by that night, all of our problems were resolved.
More than working with our dog, she trained us. And now we can effectively, and permanently, communicate with our little guy and maintain a dominant relationship of trust, love, and authority.
It would not be an exaggeration to say she's singularly the most amazing dog-trainer ever. She's worth it! Whatever the price! PAY IT! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. And most importantly, she'll help your little guy/gal find a place in the dog pack in your home. We cannot thank her enough and are happy to serve as references for as long as she graces this field with her expertise.

AWESOME! That is the word I have to use to describe Anne and the magic she worked with Teddy and Haley. We have a 2 year old Border Collie, Teddy, and a year old Border Collie Mix, Haley, and we were struggling. Our 2 year old was aggressive towards anything that moves and uncontrollable when someone came to the door. We knew we had to do something when he nipped someone, and we reached out to Anne and Bark Busters. I felt calmer after speaking to Anne on the phone and arranged for her to visit us and work with us and our dogs. After our first session, it was like we had a new dog! I literally had tears in my eyes as I vacuumed the following weekend without having to crate Teddy! It has gotten better every day with utilizing the skills Anne taught us. She read both pups correctly and told me at our initial meeting my "passive" Haley would be more of a problem, and she was 100% correct. Anne has helped me with Haley too and the passive controller is now following the rules too.
I cannot put into words how much Anne and Bark Busters has helped us and how quick the effect was! We are ecstatic over the changes in both dogs after only 2 sessions with Anne. It was worth every penny and we are so excited to see our dogs learning, but more importantly, they are much more relaxed and loving!
Thank you Anne! We are very grateful to have found you and Bark Busters!

Our first session was amazing. After the teaching of a few leader traits our dogs began responding almost instantly to us.

We were all out of options when my husband came across the name 'Bark Busters'. Our one year old Jack Russell mix had begun showing (what we thought were) food aggression signs when he was about four months old. We already were in puppy training classes and then begun intermediate classes for him. While he could be trained pretty well when a treat was involved, we could not get a grip on his food aggression. We started out with him as a five week old puppy and always had our hand in his bowl, we even would touch his mouth while he was eating and he never minded it. As the time went on and after the training classes our dog began to be unpredictable. He could be so loving one minute and you could rub him everywhere and the next thing you know he just turns on you with no warning and growls and shows teeth and then bites (sometimes pretty hard). Two trainers later and now he is a year old, he finally did the unthinkable, he charged both my me and my husband in the same night. My bite was not so bad, more like a scratch with a big bruise. My husband however was not so lucky. He should have had stitches but he was so shaken up by the whole event that he just couldn't bring himself to leave the house. The next day we called our current trainer and also our vet and explained the situation and both agreed that maybe our dog has a screw loose or some kind of mental problem. It was suggested to us to go to the ASPCA and have them do a series of tests on him to see if he could go into a new home. One of the tests would be to have him eat at his bowl and then put a fake arm near him as if to come near his food bowl. I must say, he would have failed test. He really would not have done well if you got near him while he was eating. If he failed the tests they gave him they would have to put him down because he would not be suitable to live with people. My husband scoured the Internet one last time to see if there was anyone out there that could help us save our beautiful puppy. He came across the Bark Busters site and gave them a call. He first spoke with a person in general just to share our story and then he was put in touch with Anne George. Anne heard our cries for help and then offered to come give us a FREE assessment of our dog. We took it not thinking too much that she could really save our dog but that she may just be able to give him a new home with someone who could deal with his temperament. She came to our house the next day and she immediately noticed that he was 'in fear'. He responded to her with no problem. He was never told to do something in dog language. It was already a move in the right direction. My highlight of the first visit was when she gave our dog a small bully stick. I told her it was not a good idea, that he would not be ok with others around and that we would have to leave the room or he would growl, show teeth and then attack us. She told me that she needed to see how he would respond, good, bad or ugly. She gave him the bully stick he went to a corner and then she asked him to leave it. HE DID. I was in tears and then at that moment I knew we did not have to put our dog down. We made our real appointment with Anne to get the whole training session and we are so glad that we did. Our dog Hunter is so much better. He needed to gain trust back in us and us in him. It is long journey that our family is happy to be on. I recommend this program to anyone with any kind of dog problems. Just stay vigilant with the training and you will be impressed with how your dog will learn to see you as a leader instead of as a lower dog that he has to put in it's place.

OMG! Thank goodness for Anne! I have a two year old pekingese that WAS out of control. Barking at the door, biting people when they entered the house, attacking the television, wouldn't walk on a lead, I could go on and on and on! (My husband thought this was ok because he was under the impression that you could not train small dogs, boy was he wrong!)Prior to Anne we hired two different trainers to help with this little guy. We started when he was six months old. The first trainer did the basics, sit, stay, come all done with treats. The second trainer thought that he should remain on a lead while in the house and learn how to use his nose. (bizarre). I was talking about my pekingese to a friend regarding his behaviors that I didn't understand. She told me about Anne George and the strategies she used to help with her dog. My first thought was my husband is going to think I'm nuts.(Another trainer) He did. But I am determined to have people know this precious little guy. (Roscoe) After 6 weeks,Roscoe still barks a little, but doesn't run to the door.(Tools that Anne gave us work)We have had several people in and no one was bitten!!(YEA) Roscoe no longer attacks the TV, when Roscoe is put in a stay position it allows us to enter the house first and then the dogs. I can't explain how wonderful I feel about the training and understanding our role as pet owners in our home.( We are now the leaders not Roscoe!)We still have more behaviors to work on in the next couple of weeks (walking on the lead, waiting in a stay position until called, etc. Again Anne has given us tools and strategies to help in this transition. I enjoy working with Roscoe and seeing the changes that he has made. I think Anne was/still is an excellent choice for a trainer with great results! She understands psychology of dogs/owner. She calls through out the week to see how we were doing. I can't say enough. I will let everyone know how we make out with walking on the lead!

Anne George has been working with my dog Zion for about 2 months and we have already seen great improvement. Zion used to be a very anxious dog who thought he had to protect us from everyone and everything. He is also a very hyper and energetic dog. Every since we started working with Anne we learned to talk to Zion in "dog" language. Zion responded to the training in the first visit and has been improving ever since. He is less anxious and now allows us to be in control of different situations. He is learning that we are the leaders of the pack and he needs to follow us. I would recommend Bark Busters and Anne George to anyone that wants to understand how their dog thinks and train their dog by using different techniques that their dog understands and will obey.

Anne has been working with my family for over a year with our dog that is very skiddish. "Max" would cower at the sign of a human and hide. Since working with Anne, Max now checks out visitors and new people and sometimes even lets them pet him. We just got a 9 weeks old puppy, "Emma", and Max showed signs of aggression towards her. I was sure I had made a mistake and one of the dogs would have to go. Anne came to the house and helped me introduce the 2 dogs. What a SUCCESS! Thanks to her help they are now playing together regularly. I don't know what our family would do without Anne. She made a chaotic house a happy and harmonious home. She's amazing! I would highly recommend her to anyone with a pet.
