Dazey Lu is a sweet 6 month old lab puppy. We needed some help with walking on a leash and other typical puppy behavior. We saw results immediately! Within hours. The information we were given is well researched and the tools we are using are equally helpful! I'm not great with the bah word, but the chain bags and harness WORK! So thankful my neighbor/vet recommended Bark Busters. Thanks Mary! Luanne AllenLuanne A., palm beach gardens, FloridaJanuary 22 2015
I am extremely happy with Barkbusters and May Johnson in particular. Our first training, when we paid for "lifetime training", I had my doubts. Since the initial training as puppies, things went well. Mary was great then. Recently, we installed new carpet in the bedroom, and worried about accidents. This is over six years later, and Barkbusters honored their commitment. Mary came to the house, showed us some exercises in terms of how to work with our pets, and they have all worked great. Barkbuster lived up to their deal, and Mary was terrific in her training of us and how to handle the dogs. She is highly recommended.Paul S., West Palm Beach, FloridaSeptember 1 2014
Addie is a 5 year old Golden & White Long Hair Chihuahua. She is tiny and ohhh so cute! Everyone that visits our home or we meet during travel wants to say hello and pet her. Addie is (was) not so fond of the extended affection! After our last flight from Michigan to Florida I decided I had to find a solution to her barking and aggression toward anyone who would talk to me. I searched "Dr. Google" and found Bark Busters. I called and Mary came to my home the very next day! She met with me for 2 1/2 hours noting every concern. I then introduced Addie to her. Within 30 minutes, Addie was no longer barking, coming to me when I call her, and walking at my side on a leash. I am truly amazed at the results we had after just one visit. The next week, with all of the tools and a customized written schedule in hand I continued Mary's "strongly suggested" training tips, not allowing Addie to jump on the couch, sleep on my bed :( or initiate play. The result - our roles have reversed! I am now the pack leader of our home!! Please Call Mary (and tell everyone you know ) if you are having a role reversal with your pet. She truly has a gift of resetting the pet/owner relationship. We are happy and more relaxed and I know You will be too!Katherine F., Hobe Sound, FloridaMay 24 2014
Before Mary came for her first visit we had a horrible dog. Life was stressful daily. Our dog would bark consistently at anything going on outside the house, he would attack and ferociously bark guests to where they were scared to come over. He was even so aggressive that he was snapping at my 3yr old and bit my niece while she was over for a birthday party. To say he was bad is wrong - I know now that a lot of it was small things we were doing that reinforced the "bad behavior." Mary helped point them out, created an action plan for correcting them, and in the first visit alone our dog was allowing people in our home without attacks, walking on the leash without pulling, and actively following our instructions. After the second visit, we've corrected bad chewing habits and can even have friends and family over without any issues what so ever. It's only been 3 weeks since we started the training and I was able to walk our dog in to the vets office without a muzzle and he remained well behaved by my side with 3 other dogs in the room and people walking by him - something we were never able to do before. Every day I am continually amazed at how much more peaceful our home is both for our dog and for us. I can not wait for the next visit! Mary is incredible - she doesn't train dogs - she trains people to communicate more effectively with their dog so that we have a happy peaceful home.Chaunna B., Port St Lucie, FloridaMay 23 2014
I can not say enough about how great Mary is!!! While Deogi and I have made great strides she has battled the fact I've been doing this training pretty much myself (and extremely attentive to even my frustrations not just Deogi's as my frustrations intensify his) so it's been a slow process plus I went away for a bit which put us back a bit but Mary put the focus on the positive and today and tonight Deogi and I took a walk outside the fence for little over 20 minutes!!!!! I followed her direction turn cut in front snap the leash ( but that was only once!) still lots to do but I can not explain how wonderful a night walk without a dog in disarray is! Thank you Mary !!!Debbie A., Royal Palm Beach, FloridaSeptember 15 2013

As we near the end of of training I have experienced a marked improvement with my 1.5 year old GSD while walking on leash and not lunging at other dogs or squirrels, at maintaining his boundary at the front door, at attention seeking behavior and following basic commands. Mary was an integral teacher in this process and helped me to understand my dog's behavior as well as teach me how to work with him in a very positive way.

I have a dog named Rocky. He is a mini pin but the whole neighborhood called him a meanie pin. He would pull, grawl, bark, snarl and try to attack. Even in our home, we couldn't have people over. Rocky almost bit a few people. There was no controlling him, not even at the vet's office. We would have to go through the back so he wouldn't see other dogs or people. We were getting so stressed out over this until we met Mary Johnson.
She has done wonders for us and Rocky. I actually have received compliments about his recent behavior. We were actually able to walk through the front office door at the vet's office with no problem.
My next door neighbor just complimented him also. Rocky actually let Teddy sniff him ( neighbors dog). Carol - Teddy's mom- is amazed of Rocky's transformation. It's like we have a brand new dog.
My neighbor across the street also saw the difference in him. They were surprised that we were able to have a conversation with each other without his barking or growling. They gave him a good boy and was wagging his tail.
I don't know what we would have done if it wasn't for Mary and Bark Busters.
I now can say we have a great little dog that I can be proud of.
Thank you Mary.

We used Bark Busters training techniques for the first time 5 years ago when we adopted a 5-6 year old Rottweiler. It was easy to follow the training suggestions provided and I learned so much about being the pack leader in my home. We helped a good dog become a great dog. Following his death we adopted another Rottweiler, a 4-year-old male in January 2016.
Our new dog, Buddy, was a friendly, good dog with an unknown history. He was timid and skittish, but also attentive and loving. He is obviously smart and wants to please us. But he wasn't fully housebroken, was sometimes jealous of the kids, constantly escaped the crate (when I could manage to force him in); he chewed anything on the floor, and didn't come when called.
Following a refresher with Mary, now only 2 weeks after putting into practice my newly remembered skills, Buddy is already a changed boy. He is responsive when called, had only one accident in 2 weeks, plays with only his toys and most importantly, looks to me for leadership.
He is a much happier dog now that he doesn't need to lead our "pack". He is more relaxed and much less skittish. We still have some items on the improvement list, but these will be corrected over time with patient attention to daily training using my position as pack leader to reinforce positive behavior.
My favorite part of the Bark Busters method is its training of PEOPLE to understand dog behavior, pack leadership and applying this information in an easy-to-use (non-violent) "correction and reinforcement" method.
I recommend the Bark Busters method and Mary Johnson to everyone with a dog. It is an investment in a good relationship with your dog for years to come.

Mary showed me how to get my Lola to pay attention to me. After the first lesson I was able to control the pulling. Still trying to get the BAAH down, but I am working on that. Looking forward to our next lesson including Mary's own dog, to help Lola socialize.

We are very happy that Mary came into our lives. It's hard to believe but Coco
is doing so very well for just one day. She's walking better on the leash, not
barking and actually slept on the floor all night. We will continue to train her
as Mary taught us and Coco. She's starting to be a "good girl". As to Mary's two and a half hour talk, it was superb both in content and presentation. The points she covered and justified were so worthwhile that we are very anxious to make every one part of our daily lives.

My husband and I have 2 mops and 2 stretches; 2 twelve-year-old brother and sister Shih Tzu's, Sam and Libby, and 2 six-year-old Dachshunds, Molly and Blackjack. While our primary concern was on Blackjack, each of our furbabies benefited from Bark Busters Home Dog Training methods. Blackjack has been a part of our family a little over 9 months; he was a quasi-rescue. We know he received basic home training of sit, down, and stay during the early months of his life. Although home life today is quiet and pleasant, he is completely out of control while in contact with our friends and visitors who knock on our front door. Our active social life instituted many greetings in general and in all honesty, greetings were anticipated and dreaded. Blackjack was an out of control small dog with beg dog strength; dangerous for us, for Blackjack and for those who were around us during interactive times. We began our training with Bark Busters Dog Trainer, Mary Johnson, on January 21, 2013. During sessions, Mary addresses issues and concerns first, producing a quick result, which allows us to cover new training as well. A prime example, keeping our dogs out of the kitchen. It was a pet peeve of mine. Mary provided direction on how to manage my dog's behavior versus how I was managing the issue. The result, not only did Blackjack re-calibrate his need to be in the kitchen when either my husband or I or both were in there preparing meals, but each of our 4-legged dogs received a re-calibration with little effort, peace in the kitchen once again! It is difficult to think like a dog. The biggest benefit we have gained by working with Mary Johnson, has been to understand what our dogs need and expect from us, by learning how they think. Mary not only taught us what we needed to do to train our dogs, but she also explained the logic behind the actions with patience and many hands-on demonstrations. We highly recommend Mary as a trainer whether you have specific issues to address or general training.

Mary is a fantastic trainer. I am so happy that we chose Bark Busters to train our dog. In just a few weeks, Mickey is a different dog, and we are thrilled with the results. The training is down-to-earth and easy to understand. I would recommend Mary and Bark Busters to anyone who is having a problem with their dog.
