I first met Patty in January of 2007, but not under the circumstances I would have preferred. I have three rescue dogs. My therapy dog, Sallee, (Lab/Golden mix). Libby (aggressive female toward some dogs and suspected Chow mix) had lived with Sallee and me, at that time, for over a year. I adopted Meisha (Terrier mix)in the fall of 2006. “Things” seemed to be running smoothly until one December evening when Libby viciously attacked Sallee without noticeable provocation. Three weeks later, with Libby confined to boarding in the interim and Sallee’s long recuperation, I contacted Patty and explained my situation hoping she might be able to perform a miracle which would make it possible to keep my canine family together. Patty and I scheduled our first meeting for a couple of days after Libby’s arrival home. My heart sank when I picked Libby up from boarding and reunited her (muzzled) with Sallee for the first time since “the incident.” Libby growled and strained at the leash while Sallee approached in a friendly way. I was heartbroken. I remember feeling lost and thinking nothing is going to work, and I am going to have a very difficult decision to make. I would not put Libby down. She is a very loving and beautiful soul who loves everybody and everything. At that time I felt sure I would have to surrender her to another home. Here comes the miracle!! The first meeting Patty spent several hours with my three canine girls and me. She assessed the situation and began to show/tell me how to read their body language, how to be a stronger pack leader, what methods I needed to follow, and what changes needed to be made in order for everyone to get along and co-exist. Seven months later and after only three visits from Patty, my canine family and I are living a happy life together. Does it sound too good to be true? I can attest to miracles do happen. Would I recommend Patty McGowan - Bark Busters? Yes, I - without a doubt – strongly recommend her. |

I am awed. It is so quiet in my house that it's spooky. No barking at the doorbell; no barking when the other dogs go out. All I expected was someone knowledgeable about dogs and assertive enough to control one of the Goldens to help me let Halo be around another dog and not panic. Between the reference at my vet and our phone conference I thought I had that. I got so much more. "Fly" is very happy in his crate--not too long, lots of play time, but quiet and well-behaved. I will recommend Patty to anyone who asks. My "Bah" is feeble compared to hers, but I'm working on it! The heck with the Dog Whisperer; I'll take Patty every time, She's a force to be reckoned with! |
