I was tired of the corporate world and wanted to finally go out and do something that I had a passion for and that I could do as my own business. That’s everyone’s dream, right? I was literally ready to open my own Pretzel Stand on some street corner, just to get out of that corporate life!

However, before I hastily left my high-paying corporate job, I wanted to make sure that I chose a business that would be a good match for me. I wanted to find a franchise where I could be in business for myself, but not by myself, and one in which I could excel NOT just because of my skills, experience and finances, but mostly due to the interests and hobbies that I have.

When I found Bark Busters, right away it matched my passion and love I have for dogs. I chose Bark Busters over the other franchises because I love to work with dogs. All my free time was previously spent volunteering at the local Humane Society shelter and working with the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida rescue group. It was a match made in heaven.

Now, I could work with people and their dogs and help the dogs become better-behaved companion animals and avoid being sent to the rescue groups and shelter due to behavior problems that can be fixed. It is much more fulfilling than my corporate job, and I look forward to work EVERY day. I tell people that the one thing I wish I could do over with the business is to have started it sooner!

I joined Bark Busters in large part because when I called Bark Busters franchise owners to ask about the opportunity, so many of them told me they love what they do every day.

My own experience has echoed that sentiment. Despite having owned several dogs, I have learned that individual relationships with dogs are no more static than people’s relationships with each other.
