Englewood, CO, Oct. 11, 2008 – As summer activities come to a close, Bark Busters — the world’s largest, most trusted dog training company — announced the winner of its Dog Days of Summer photo competition. Participants submitted photos of their dogs celebrating the spirit of summer. Judges selected finalists from over 300 photo entries, and more than 3,300 public votes were cast to determine the winners through a real-time vote online.

“The Dog Days of Summer photo competition was a great way to celebrate dogs and the spirit of summer,” said Liam Crowe, CEO and master dog behavioral therapist at Bark Busters USA. “We are pleased that the competition benefitted not only the participants but also a worthy cause like Love-A-Bull Rescue.”

Bark Busters, the world leader in natural home dog training, kicked off its Dog Days of Summer photo competition in early July and chose the grand-prize winner, Tammy Walters from Grain Valley, Missouri. Tammy’s female English bulldog, Rease, posed in a zebra-patterned tank top and pants that had dropped to her feet. Dawn Maestas from Mission Viejo, California, came in second with her Labrador, Ruby, whose picture was snapped as he jumped up to catch a large floating bubble. Third place was awarded to Janet Hales from Garner, North Carolina, and her golden retriever, Drake, who posed sprawled out, cooling off in front of a fan.

All winners were awarded gift bags worth $100 filled with Bark Busters prizes such as dog toys and the book, Training Dogs the Aussie Way, by Bark Busters founders and world-renowned grand master dog trainers, Danny and Sylvia Wilson. As the grand-prize winner, Maestas was also asked to choose the “winning” charity. Maestas selected Love-A-Bull Rescue in Queen Creek, Arizona, to receive the $500 donation from Bark Busters on her behalf.

Bark Busters’ next photo competition, Kids 'n' Paws, begins October 13, 2008, to celebrate the companionship between children and their favorite four-legged friends. Participants may submit their photos on www.BarkBusters.com from October 13 through December 8, 2008.
