We invite you to discover why dog owners around the world have come to understand and value Bark Busters’ successful methods of “training dogs the Aussie way”!

About Bark Busters Founders Sylvia & Danny Wilson

Bark Busters was founded in Australia in 1989 by Sylvia and Danny Wilson, both expert dog trainers. During her 10 years managing an RSPCA shelter, Sylvia would observe and analyze the behavior and communication methods of the hundreds of dogs that came into the shelter. Saddened that so many dogs were abandoned or euthanized for behavioral issues, Sylvia knew these problems stemmed from a lack of consistent leadership. She also knew that she could help resolve them.

Thus the Bark Busters method was born. This highly effective method is based on unique, natural, dog-friendly training techniques, as described in Sylvia and Danny’s numerous books including Training Dogs the Aussie Way, a practical guide for dog owners.

Bark Busters teaches dog owners about the canine psyche and how to train dogs using voice control and body language, with the goal of putting the owner in control through effective leadership.

Today, the Bark Busters training method has been used to train more dogs worldwide than any other method—and hence has saved countless dogs’ lives.

What We Do is Simple, Natural and Dog-Friendly

What makes us different? Developed in Australia, our simple, natural and dog-friendly training techniques use the same communication methods—body language and voice control—that dogs follow in their instinctive pack mentality.

With training taking place in your home, you’ll see amazing results with your dog in as little as two hours (not weeks or months offered by other methods). Plus, you’ll see continued improvements in your dog’s behavior with practice and time.

A Bark Busters Dog Behavioral Therapist will come to your home where your dog is more open to learning and where he exhibits most of his problem behaviors. We teach you how to train your dog through effective use of your voice tones and body language. Our technique puts you in control using non-physical, quick and easy methods that dogs and puppies need to feel comfortable and secure.

Your Bark Busters trainer will help you to better understand and manage your dog’s behavior, yielding an enhanced relationship that is more relaxed and enjoyable for you, your family and your dog.

Mission

As a world leader in dog training, Bark Busters' mission is to promote clear communications between owners and their dogs using simple, effective, and natural training methods that appeal to the canine psyche. Through the professionalism and commitment of our network of dog behavioral therapists, we work to enhance the human-canine bond thereby reducing the possibility of maltreatment, abandonment and euthanasia of companion dogs.

Welcome to Bark Busters USA!

About the USA Founders: Liam and Natalie Crowe
As newlyweds in their native Australia, Liam and Natalie adopted “Buddy,” a cute brown puppy (cattle dog/Border collie mix). Shortly, however, the Crowes outgrew their “puppy love” and became frustrated dog owners—Buddy liked to get into things, run away, bark at everything that moved, and generally cause havoc. After trying numerous training methods with no success, they sought advice from their veterinarian, who suggested Bark Busters.

After just one session with a Bark Busters Dog Behavioral Therapist, Liam and Natalie were amazed with the improvement in Buddy’s behavior.

At that time, Liam was a bank manager and Natalie a travel consultant. They both loved dogs, and they remembered the enthusiasm their trainer had shown when he came to their home. That’s when they decided Bark Busters was their chance to move into a career where they could live their passion and gain satisfaction from helping others manage their unruly dogs.

After 12 months of intensive training, the Crowes left Australia to take Bark Busters to Auckland, New Zealand.

Within the first year, Liam and Nat trained over 500 dogs, with fantastic results. As the New Zealand Master Licensee for Bark Busters Australia, the Crowes established and trained six Bark Busters franchises and one puppy school franchise. As a franchise owner themselves, they established and operated five puppy schools and a group training facility for clients, in addition to continuing to train dogs of all ages and breeds.

Their success in New Zealand garnered positive media publicity, highlighted by a segment on 60 Minutes which presented them training aggressive dogs. The Crowes were also featured on numerous pet-related TV and radio shows, and in popular newspapers and magazines.

After successfully expanding Bark Busters throughout New Zealand and training thousands of dogs, Liam and Natalie began looking for a new challenge when the Wilsons proposed that they take Bark Busters to the U.S.

In 2000, Liam and Natalie undertook the challenge of co-founding Bark Busters USA, which has since grown to approximately 250 franchises in 40 states across the country.

When not working in the Bark Busters Home Office facility near Denver, the Crowes spend time with their children, Renee and Gabriel; their two rescue dogs, Archie and Beau; and their cat, Fritz.

"Of all the positive comments we receive from our clients, the one we hear the most is that clients realize we have shown them how to communicate in a way their dog understands. Dogs are simple thinking creatures that look for leadership and guidance from their pack. This means they seek clear, concise and effective communication that takes into consideration the voice tones and body language that dogs use to communicate with each other. When we unlock these 'secrets' of the canine psyche, we show our clients how to have a deeper relationship with their dog that is calmer and more enjoyable.

Visiting our clients' homes is an essential part of the training, as it enables us to assess the total dynamic of the family, their dog and the environment. These observations then help us to customize the training that best suits their needs.

When you learn how to 'speak dog,' you will quickly see how your dog understands your requests, leading to a more harmonious relationship with him."
