The ONLY local trainer/behaviorist I would recommend is Bark Busters Home Dog Training. The Bark Busters program is a winner. My three retired racers and an Italian Greyhound have been through the program. They responded to the object of the training session in less than 30 minutes. Our goal was to stop the barking race to the front door where guests would be greeted by four enthusiastic, leaping, licking, barking hounds. It was chaos. While I enjoy that kind of loving greeting, many of my guests and relatives did not look forward to ringing my doorbell. I was a skeptic and didn’t believe anyone could bring order to my crew of hounds, but Bark Busters worked a miracle in record time….without ever laying a hand on my hounds except to pet and enjoy them.
I can't thank you and Mark enough for the fabulous work you did with [a potential Greyhound adopter]. I met a transformed dog yesterday. I always knew you guys were good, but this puts you in the class of miracle workers. Expect more referrals.....I'm going to sing your praises to everyone now, more than ever. --Carolyn Flajnik, President, Virginia Greyhound Adoption
Since opening Bark Busters Northern Virginia in 2002, we have trained several thousand dogs and we are certified Master Dog Trainers and Behavioral Therapists. We are the most widely trusted and recommended dog trainers in Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.
We got impressive results almost immediately. I was particularly pleased that the training techniques involved canine psychology, rather than compulsion/punishment. Kelley quickly saw the dynamics of our three dogs and focused on effective problem solving. I was also glad that she asked questions regarding medical conditions, diet and sleeping arrangements – things many trainers neglect to consider. I highly recommend Bark Busters to any dog owner! --A. Hooks, Loudoun Vet Service, Purcellville
We have significant experience working with dogs of all ages who have serious problems such as aggression and separation anxiety, as well as more common issues like jumping, barking, pulling on leash, etc. We also use a comprehensive training program for developing proper manners and social skills in pups eight weeks or older.
Bark Busters was a godsend! After consulting with numerous veterinarians and looking at shelter placement due to Kamille’s behavior, we thought we would give me one last try to retain the dog in our home. Behaviors that were “cured”: barking at everything that moves, leash walking, dominance over owners and other Beagle. Note: After 10 minutes, we saw an improvement in her behavior!!! --B. Klokis, Purcellville
Prior to becoming Bark Busters, we resided in Arizona, where Mark was a violent crimes detective with the Scottsdale Police Department and Kelley worked in customer relations. We both graduated from Arizona State University with degrees in psychology and justice studies, respectively. We are currently the proud parents of 2 Doberman Pinschers, 1 Labrador Retriever and 2 Maine Coon cats.
