Scott Savelle
Nominated Best Trainer of the Year 2004-2005 |
A few years ago when I began searching for a new career someone asked me what I was passionate about. A number of interests and hobbies crossed my mind, but I registered only enthusiasm not true passion. Then I hit on it… dogs. In the course of my life I'd been fortunate to have had a few exceptional pooches. Tom-Tom the spaniel who guarded me before I could walk, Dally the Dalmatian, Peanuts the Fox Terrier and Sarah the chocolate Lab, faithful hiking and swimming companion. For the most part, they were well-behaved, loyal family members.
But it was my last dog, Sarah, who went through a period of separation anxiety that had me at my wit's end. Somehow we got through that difficult time, but I always wished there was someone who could have helped me ease her behavioral problems.
So when I learned of Bark Busters, and their unique approach to training and behavior, there was never any doubt that this was what I was meant to do. Now I have the opportunity to help people who find themselves wanting a better life with their canine family members.
If you want to get your new puppy started off on the right paw, or need to improve the behavior of your long-time canine family member, call and we can arrange a lesson at your home. And if you're at your wit's end like I once was, you'll be amazed at the profound improvement Bark Busters training can have on dogs with the most challenging issues such as separation anxiety or aggression.

Scott Savelle and the Bark Busters’ approach to resolving our dog’s issues feel very right for us. We have had two other behaviorists work with our dog on his aggression, but to no avail. We were not comfortable with either of the approaches presented and did not follow through with their techniques.
Our vet, Southington Veterinary Associates, recommended Scott and soon after speaking with him over the phone, I knew Scott and the Bark Busters’ approach was what we had been looking for. His depth of knowledge in dog behavior, positive and upbeat delivery of services, and obvious passion for dogs and his work renewed my faith in behavior modification. After only 3-4 days using a simple technique, Scott showed us on his first visit, we started seeing a difference in Fredo’s behavior.
We have a way to go; however, we feel very optimistic, and we know Scott is committed to taking the journey with us. The Bark Busters difference is they will be there for the life of the dog! That partnership is essential as it takes time to change certain behaviors. Their mission is genuine – they create happier dogs and happier families. Scott did that for us in one visit. --Cheryl F., Southington, CT
My wife and I are about to have a baby and our dog is very important to us. We wanted to get more control of him for this reason. Now he’s very well behaved. We can’t say enough good things about your training. Thank you very much! --Justin & Amber, Enfield, CT
I was a healthy skeptic, but I came into this training with an open mind. I couldn’t write the check fast enough after working with Scott for two hours. It all makes sense, and Scott’s understanding of my situation made everything fall into place. --Amanda G., Unionville, CT
The training was enjoyable and impressive. I couldn’t believe how fast it worked. Scott was so friendly and helpful! --Shelaugh M., Avon, CT
We are very pleased and have seen instant results. Our dog’s behavior is improving. We recommend Bark Busters highly! --Douglas L., West Hartford, CT
We had Scott come out the day before the Super Bowl and during our party we used the techniques he showed us. Our dog responded very well and was the hit of the party. She was calm and relaxed and everyone commented on her nice “manners.” We are pleased with the quick results! -- Randi J., Windsor, CT
I am very happy with the results of the training. I will, and have recommended Bark Busters to our clients. I really like the theory behind the training. --Kelly Heinzmann, Beckett & Associates Veterinary Services, Glastonbury, CT
It's only been less than one week since Scott came over and already we see an amazing difference in Ozzy's behavior. He comes when we call, and sits and lies down when we command. We realize we still have a lot of work ahead of us, but I am completely amazed and satisfied with the immediate results we're seeing ~ Thank you! --Steve K., Enfield, CT
On our walk, Princess walked past three dogs with only a mild correction from me. Even my neighbor's little dog yipped and tugged towards Princess, but Princess walked by with just a quiet "bah" from me. No one had to cross the street to get away from my dog! Princess also remembered about the doors (I go first) and the stairs (ditto) without any reminders from me. And she now leaves the cat alone. There's no begging at dinner either. She knows I'm the leader on the issues we worked on and assumes I'm the alpha for everything else. I love my dog, but now I really enjoy her. -- Linda D., Plainville, CT
Scott was very helpful and explained the techniques to use very well. I have already seen a big difference in walking Riley - I'm no longer being dragged down the street! -- Sue B., West Hartford, CT
I couldn't believe how immediate was my dogs' response. Scott spent three hours in our home observing the three dogs' behavior and helped us successfully communicate our expectations to them. -- Laurie C., Middletown, CT
I am very impressed how quickly this training works. Lily has responded immediately to this technique. I look forward to enjoying the benefits … a well-behaved dog! Thank you! --Janice W., West Hartford, CT
Scott was very patient as it was a little difficult at first with three dogs. But once we all got the idea, what a difference!! People can now come into my home. We had people over for Thanksgiving and the three dogs were just perfect. We were amazed because this is the first time we didn't have to put any dogs in the garage. Also, my arms have gone back to their original length since they're not being pulled out of their sockets every time we go for a walk. Thank you, Scott, and Bark Busters. -- Vicky M., Sandy Hook, CT
