My decision to become a Bark Buster was one of the easiest and best decisions I have ever made. This career is a really wonderful combination of two areas of my life that have been of interest to me for a very long time. First is my long-standing love of and interest in dogs as an owner, breeder, and owner of a show dog. This interest has served as the foundation for making this career change. In addition, in my first profession as a speech-language pathologist, I devoted many years to helping adults improve their communication after they suffered life altering illnesses. I enjoyed this work because by improving these individual's ability to communicate, I was able to help them improve the quality of life for them as well as for their loved ones.

In my career now as a Bark Buster, I get to work on improving communication between people and dogs to enhance the quality of life for the owners as well as for the dog. Clearly, good communication is an essential component for both human and canine relationships. I have had the good fortune to find career paths that have allowed me to explore my interests in both of these areas.

I truly enjoy helping families change their unruly, overly exuberant, or even aggressive dogs into calm, well-behaved companions. Knowing that I have contributed positively to the harmony in the household and possibly saved the dog from being re-housed or sent to the shelter -- or worse yet, euthanized -- gives me great satisfaction.
