The training method of Bark Busters was developed in Australia to reduce the number of dogs euthanized or surrendered to animal shelters. It was the success of this methodology that grew into the international company of Bark Busters today. Without this basis, we could not be the world’s largest dog training organization.

Why home training? Because dogs learn best when they can completely focus on the owner in an environment that is quiet and free of distractions, and the issues that are causing concern can be recreated and addressed. Being in a familiar environment where there’s nothing competing for your dog’s attention enables us to address the issues very quickly. In fact, it’s very common for clients to see results with behavioral issues in the first 20 minutes!

We don’t use harsh techniques or bribe with food to extort good behavior. We engage dogs in using their minds – communicating with them on a level that they understand, using the natural dynamics of pack law. Our goal is voice control and clear body language.

A bit about me….
I have worked with dogs my entire life, and always knew that I wanted to spend my second career working as a dog behavior therapist. I worked with several trainers before becoming familiar with Bark Busters. I have a graduate degree in clinical psychology and worked with changing human behavior in my first career lasting over twenty years. I've volunteered since childhood with rescue, service, training, and shelter organizations, and am currently am the leader of a pack of seven dogs (plus two cockatoos and a cat), along with taking in foster dogs.

I became acquainted with Bark Busters when a good friend in Denver became a customer and his dogs immediately changed for the better. He tried to explain to me what the lesson had shown him, but I had to experience it for myself to really understand. I have never been so impressed with a training system as I am with Bark Busters. I feel fortunate to in a position to help improve the relationship between owners and dogs, and to be a part of making the families I work happier ones.
