Very often when dealing with clients' dogs, I've found that it comes down to a question of leadership. Very often it's our furry four-legged companions who've used their uncanny ability to "train" their owners. Also very often, clients realize that they've allowed their dogs to rule the roost, but they don't know how to get control back. Sometimes I find that my clients are not only embarassed by their dog's behavior, but even have to limit their social life because of that behavior. Problems like barking furiously when the door bell rings, jumping up as visitors enter the home, and begging at the dinner table make it very uncomfortable for company in the home. These behavior issues, and many others, CAN be resolved. By teaching my clients how to effectively communicate with their canine companions, any problem can be overcome. With patience and consistency, my clients have seen a dramatic improvement in their dog's behavior. Three hundred thousand happy dogs in eight countries can't be wrong!! That's how many dogs have been successfully trained using the Bark Busters methods. I can help you, too, by teaching you our techniques of canine communication and pack law. And with patient, consistent application of those techniques, you'll enjoy a happy dog and a happy family. Even though I've enjoyed dogs my whole life, it wasn't until I married 31 years ago that Kathy and I got our first dog: a wonderful Border Collie/Beagle mix named Boomerang. Since then, our family has enjoyed Duke (Boomerang's son), Bailey (a rescued Golden Retriever), Ollie (a rescued Golden/Chow mix), Lucy (a rescued Yellow Lab), and now Douglas, a very lively Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. I was fortunate to combine my enjoyment of dogs with the opportunity to join the Bark Busters team. Having been a teacher/coach and then a transportation executive and business owner for many years, I'm enjoying my new career as a canine behavioral therapist, teaching dog owners how to create Happy Dogs and Happy Families. |
