The Best in Home Dog Training in Northern DuPage County!

Christine Guth is a certified Master Dog Behavioral Therapist and Dog Trainer and, with her husband Jerry, the owner of one of the Illinois Bark Busters Home Dog Training businesses.  She is also an associate member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).

Since opening her Bark Busters Northern DuPage County business in 2006, Christine has enabled hundreds of dogs and their families to live together in harmony.

Prior to her career with Bark Busters Northern DuPage County, she graduated from North Central College in Naperville with a Computer Science degree.  While working as a Senior Project Manager for a large corporation, she began to pursue her passion for dogs by becoming a volunteer puppy raiser for a service dog organization.  To date she has fostered three pups – all of which have been successfully placed.

Bark Busters' dog training methods are very simple, easy to follow and humane. The dog obedience training sessions are essentially about re-establishing leadership. In an effort to make our pets a part of the family, the “loving gestures” that we extend toward our dogs are interpreted in a canine way and much differently than we intended. Therein lies the problem.

Christine teaches dog owners to take their power back from their dogs – often to the huge relief of the dog. The dog behavior training sessions are individually tailored to meet the needs of your family as well as your dog’s temperament. She becomes, in a sense, your personal, professional dog trainer in this area.

She covers the full range of dog training needs
and excels in helping with general obedience as well as all dog behavioral issues that concern them including but not limited to:

Dog Aggression, jumping, biting, separation anxiety, sibling rivalry, front door manners, digging, hyperactivity, introducing cats and dogs, car issues, jumping up on people or counters, poor recall, anxiety when visiting the groomer or the vet clinic, socialization issues, toileting problems, item stealing and leash misbehaviors.

Age is not an issue.  Christine has provided puppy training for puppies as young as eight weeks and with dogs as old as thirteen years.  Dogs are life-long learners so it is never too late to change any dog behavior problems. Whether you need mature dog training or puppy training, small dog training or large dog training, Bark Busters of Northern DuPage County can help!

Christine also can provide deaf dog training and training for rescue dogs to help them learn how to fit into their human families.

Christine does not discriminate regarding breeds and has worked extensively with those such as Australian Shepherd, Beagle, Border Collie, Boxer, Chihuahua, Corgi, Dachshund, Doberman, German Shepherd, Great Dane, Greyhound, Husky, Jack Russell Terrier, Mastiff, Pit Bull, Pomeranian, Poodle, Portuguese Water Dog, Pug, all Retriever breeds, Rottweiler, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Shiba Inu, Weimeraner, all Spaniel breeds, Yorkie and Maltese – to name a few.

While one of Bark Busters claims to fame is that they are the world’s largest dog training company, the important element to glean from this is that they have a wealth of experience to draw from and, therefore, can get to the heart of the matter between you and your dog much more quickly - thereby restoring peace and harmony in your home. In-home dog training is preferable, because this is where many dogs misbehave. Christine provides one-on-one dog training, versus just feeling like one of the pack in a large dog training class.

How The Process Works:
Before beginning any program of behavioral modification, Christine does a thorough investigation and interview in an attempt to determine the cause(s) of the behaviors that are of concern to her clients. In most cases the behaviors that they are asked to help fix are symptoms of a deeper cause. If you do not discern the reasons for a behavior, the likelihood of a permanent solution is decreased.

Dogs do things for dog reasons - not people reasons. Dogs are a different species. They view the world from a canine perspective - not a human one. They communicate in a canine way - not a human one. These differences can lead to misunderstandings and problems.

After the investigation is completed, Christine starts the dog education phase with her clients, providing many dog training tips. She explains the issues from the dog’s perspective and then starts working on a dog training program of behavior modification with her clients and their dogs. She coaches and guides her clients through the process of changing their dog’s behavior.

Bark Busters Northern DuPage County uses a non-physical, pain-free (no choke collars, pinch, prong or shock collars) natural approach to training a dog based on understanding and clear communication. Treats are not used as the foundation for the dog training.  Every dog is an individual with its own personality, temperament and experience - the same as people. Each lives in a unique environment - the home and neighborhood. Because of this, each situation is unique.  Chrstine tailors the dog obedience solution to fit the circumstances. There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to relationships. Great relationships with dogs are built on a foundation of mutual love, respect and trust. If any of these are missing there are likely to be problems. Christine is an expert in helping people understand and develop great relationships with their canine family members.

Practicing for only a few minutes (about fifteen throughout the day) for five to six weeks will usually permanently change the dog behaviors that are concerning you.

Christine offers a variety of service levels which makes her help affordable to practically everyone. The“Life of the Dog” service is by far the best value. Dogs can be with us for many years and changes occur. Family members come and go.  Schedules change and new jobs are had.  Many other events can happen which affect us and our dogs. The Lifetime Service guarantee promises that we will always be there to support you so you are never alone. Christine’s help is always just an email or phone call away.

If your relationship with your dog is not all it could be speak with Christine or one of our professional scheduling managers and stop worrying about your dog’s behavior. She loves helping people develop great relationships with their dogs.

If you are ready to start changing your life with your dog for the better, please contact Bark Busters Northern DuPage County at 877-500-BARK (2275).
