Gail Chadbourne is a graduate of both the Bark Busters Home Dog Training program and the Bark Busters Advanced Training program. She is a member of the Friends of the Fairmont Shelter, a volunteer -- training the dog walkers at the Alameda Shelter -- and is recommended by local veterinarians and rescue groups including Four Paws Rescue.
Using the Bark Buster method of training she helps dog owners develop their own skills to communicate in a way their dogs get. She further assists dog owners in understanding the critical importance of the love/bond, trust, and respect components that make up the dynamic family pack relationship. Gail realizes that many people are embarrassed by their dog’s bad behavior and believe there is nothing they can do about it, or they may blame themselves for their dog’s bad behavior. The reality is we don’t grow up knowing about canine communication and behavior. Gail is thrilled and excited she can pass along to dog owners what she herself has studied at the Bark Busters Home Dog Training Center in Denver. Gail has expertise in many nuisance behavioral issues such as: jumping up on you and your guests, rushing the doors when the doorbell rings, barking, poor walking habits and many other annoying behaviors. Gail, unlike many other trainers, knows that big powerful breeds are and can be absolutely wonderful dogs given the right training. She can and will work with you on:
• Helping you with your powerful Pit, Rottie, Shepherd, etc;
• Work with you on any dog, any age, any issue;
• Problem solve with you on aggressive behavior;
• Assist you in passing the Good Citizen Canine test;
• Teach you to teach your dog general obedience skills;
• Accommodate you or your dog’s special needs;
• Get you and your new puppy off to the right start;
• Present in-house workshops and speaking engagements for
veterinary hospitals, groomers, kennels, and shelters, schools,
libraries on topics such as preventing dog bites, canine
communication, behavioral issues, preparing for your new baby
and more;
• Certified in Pet CPR and First Aid.
All training sessions are customized for you, your family and your dog(s). The first training is done in your home; it is easy on your schedule and no travel is needed. Dogs learn and retain training best in their own environment where the problems exist. Once you have a handle on your dog in your home, the training can move to the park, the street, walks, and public areas -- anywhere you feel you need help with a behavioral issue. The training is truly tailored to you and your dog’s personality, your lifestyle, your schedule, and your goals.
Gail stresses the results can be fast, but the real secret is in practicingin the moment, when the situation comes up. Just like it takes us 21 days to change our behavior it also takes your dog 3 to 5 weeks to really understand what you want him to do and to do it consistently. If you are willing to take just a little bit of time every day, you will love the results of having a dog that gets what you are trying to say and does it.
If you are looking for great results and want to learn to “speak dog,” call me today as I would LOVE to work with you, your family, and your dog.
