Whether you are starting out with a new puppy or have an older dog that decidedly runs the household, I can help you.
As a Bark Busters therapist, I will personally assess each situation and custom tailor the training to address the issues that are important to you, and also to the temperament and needs of your dog. I do private behavioral and obedience training in the home because that is where we can get the most attention from the dog, it is where most problems occur, and it’s where we can obtain the fastest results.
No harsh methods are involved. We engage dogs in using their minds—communicating with them on a level that they understand, using the natural dynamics of pack law.
You will look upon me as your coach. I will teach you the same system of communication that dogs use to train each other. You will learn how to use your body language and voice to get your dog’s respect and focus on you. With this new found respect, your dog will look to you for direction; in other words, you can now educate your dog on what behaviors are acceptable and what behaviors are not.
Together, we will make your dog understand that you are Top Dog in your pack. When this happens, many times you can see the dog saying, “Thank you!” You see, most dogs have put themselves in charge of the household, and they really don’t relish having that responsibility.
Many of my clients come to me after other types of dog training methods have failed. Don’t give up on your dog.

I am an avid dog lover and have always shared my life with dogs. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m glad that I have a career in which I can help others truly enjoy the dogs in their lives. I look forward to each new lesson and the happiness on my clients’ faces after I have given them the tools they need to make their dog a true joy to have around. Seeing both the dogs and families living happily together for the first time is so rewarding.
I live with my husband, Rick, and we are blessed to have two really great dogs. We believe that Pansy is a Yorkie-Maltese mix. We’re not sure of her breeding because she was found wandering on a country road. She has been part of our family for seven years. She has only one eye and had to have knee surgery last year, but we consider her our “baby.” The most recent addition to our family is Dyna. She is a nine-month-old puppy that we adopted from the Adams County SPCA. She is a Vizsla/Pit bull mix. Like most working breeds, Vizslas like to be kept busy and use their brain. We continually challenge her by teaching her new tricks and playing Frisbee. She is sooo sweet, and we are having lots of fun with her.
I look forward to hearing about you and yours.
