When you get down to it, that’s what we all want, a dog that is a well-behaved, happy companion.  At Bark Busters, we teach owners to train their dogs, by putting the owners in the pack leader position. This allows the dogs to feel safe in the pack, knowing who the leader is (the owner) and takes that unwanted role away from the dog.

Unfortunately things like nuisance barking, jumping up, pulling on the lead when walking, etc. can interfere with having the best relationship possible.

About me . . .

My background is in multi-unit marketing where I spent 26 years as a marketing director for major corporations.  My last position was with VCA Animal Hospitals where I put together their animal shelter program.  I visited over 80 animal shelters across the country.  I couldn’t believe the number of homeless pets, many were there due to behavioral problems and many of those dogs were euthanized. Then I stumbled across Bark Busters and it was absolutely perfect for me!  Now I can really make a difference in the lives of dogs and the people who love them!  All dogs can be rehabilitated, even the very aggressive ones.

I started training dogs at the age of 12 and we  achieved her AKC Companion Dog degree.  For the last 16 years, I have been training and showing my horses. Currently I show dressage, and I love it!  I have one horse, “Lakota,” and two dogs: “Bogey,” a Boston terrier/beagle mix, and “Lily,” a standard poodle.

I got my cute maniac puggle named Datsyuk in July '07. I own a 14-month-old Siberian Husky. I tried [other] training classes and nothing was helping any of the problems I was having with Delta. Something had to be done or my mom would get rid of her. Aggressive pit bull? -- Have you ever been locked in a room with a pit bull that is growling at you? I watch the news and I trembled with fear for hours after I got away from her. My pit bull spun so out of control she was attacking my other dogs and turning on me. I didn't know what else to do except be what I thought was a responsible pet owner and put her down. I called my vet. and scheduled her to be euthanized. -- But I love her so much that I couldn’t go through with it. I also couldn't live in fear. I honestly didn't know what to do. If I talked to 30 people, 30 people told me to put her down. My vet recommended Wendy from Bark Busters and she became our last hope. She turned out to be a godsend. -- If I had not seen it for myself, I would have never believed it. Wendy helped us turn her around. As I mentioned, I also have 3 shepherds and had police academy training with them. With all my years of experience with dogs, I truly believed there would be no way to rehabilitate our Pit bull.
