Welcome to Bark Busters of Greater Des Moines!
Properly trained, a man can be dog's best friend.~Corey Ford
I couldn’t be happier to be a part of Bark Busters family of dog trainers! I love helping dog owners understand how to help their dogs be the well-behaved dog they hoped to have. I come to your home so your pet training is less stressful for you and your dog! No travel, so your dog training lesson time is according to your schedule and your dog has less distractions. 100% of lesson time is spent on YOUR dog.
The first dog training lesson is 2-3 hours in length with follow up lessons approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. I offer life-of-the-dog guarantee of support. If your dog reacts like an average dog, you will likely see some positive changes in its behavior during the first lesson. (Click HERE to read some of my clients’ testimonials if you don’t believe me.)Have a wish list ready when I arrive and we’ll make sure every dog behavior issue is addressed. Or you can take our online behavior quiz now to rate your dog’s behavior! I will give you a workable foundation to understanding your dog’s view of his world and coach you in ways to give him what he needs on the canine level. Without yelling, screaming, bribing or use of physical force, you will learn how to tap into your dog’s canine psych to gain a stronger relationship based on trust, bond, and respect as his strong, loving leader.

I had my own struggles with my dog before Bark Busters!! I NEEDED Bark Busters. My Lucy. Darling Lucy - unless we happened to see another living creature on our walks. Sure, she was all of about 15 lbs. but when I tried to control her antics, she resorted to walking down the sidewalk on her hind legs BARKING. I was embarrassed. So, we walked after dark…and I spent hundreds of dollars on dog training lessons – she passed the Canine Good Citizen test but STILL, I struggled with her lunging unexpectedly on her leash and I feared falling on ice. I considered various harnesses and collars designed to force the dog not to pull but I didn’t want that for her. I wanted her to walk nicely of her own free will. Enter Bark Busters. Within 20 minutes, she was walking by my side on a loose leash – amazing! It took continued commitment and consistency on my part but I now take HER for a walk not the other way around. We even go in the daylight! ;-)
Could this be YOU?
You know your dog is a good dog – even a GREAT dog most of the time but possibly it is that 5% that seems to make him a challenge. Possibly he exhibits:
-
Dog barking at people, dogs, everyday sounds – even birds – you name it….
-
Dog lunging down the street while on the leash
-
Steals food from the counter or table or begs for food
-
Dog aggression toward people
-
Is protective of his food or toys or plays rough
-
Barks & runs to the door ahead of you when the doorbell rings
-
Dog obedience issues such as jumping on houseguests and is exuberant to a fault
-
Nips at hands, ankles, clothing
-
Sits only when HE wants to and may or may not come when called
-
Digs in the yard or chews on the furniture
-
Toilets in the house whether as a puppy or an adult
-
Dog separation anxiety -- cries / becomes destructive when left alone
-
Or maybe you’re looking for the basics/puppy education.
Bark Busters has fixed the above dog behavior issues for clients just like you.
I help dog owners like you regain peace in their home. I work with aggressive dogs, deaf dogs, rescue dogs and breeds/temperaments refused by other dog behavior trainers. Yorkies to Mastiffs, Pit Bulls/Mixes, and lovable labs – all respond to the Bark Busters obedience methods. Through Bark Busters Greater Des Moines, I have helped hundreds of dog owners to overcome virtually every conceivable dog behavior problem.

Here's What A Few Of My Clients Have Said About the Dog Training From Me!
We have been impressed with our dogs’ response to the Bark Busters technique. I would never use training aids that were abusive to the dogs – this is a way to train that seems to make sense to the dogs. Rosey was responding during the first session and we saw continued response in the days that followed. I work at South Des Moines Veterinary Center and I would feel comfortable recommending Bark Busters to our clients. --Kathy Parker, South Des Moines Veterinary Center, Des Moines, IA
I was pretty skeptical at first, but the 1st night after the training, my dog started barking at an air molecule (in the aquarium) & I was able to stop the barking instantly. I was absolutely amazed. It's so nice to not have to listen to nonstop barking every time there is the slighted sound. I work at a vet clinic and feel totally confidant recommending Bark Busters to clients.
It was remarkable -- the change in mu dog! After the first training session, she seemed more relaxed and calm. The training is well worth the time and money. I tell everyone about Bark Busters. It was so easy and simple. I wish I had called Bark Busters months ago. I would have saved so much ntime and money.--Elizabeth Gorsche, Indianola, IA

Happy Dogs - Happy Families!
Amazing—I've been telling everyone Deb is the Dog Whisperer! I saw results during the first session and am pleased with the natural training techniques used by Bark Busters. I have already recommended Bark Busters to friends multiple times. The results I have noticed are very good. I am super pleased with Deb. I'm not going to take my dog to the shelter!! --Bryan Crowder, Des Moines, IA
Excellent in every category. Nigel actually didn't bark at a passerby, by the end of the first lesson! It also impressed me that Nigel did what he was asked without treats! --Kate Moore, Waukee, IA
My dog Rambo is a particularly extreme case, but your methods work. I know that with practice, by Deb's second visit, things will be much better. Deb made sure I understood things before going on to the next step. Bark Busters uses unique training methods that work! Even though the dog training is a little costly, it's worth every penny of it. You guys are just great. --Kathy Towsley, Ankeny, IA
Bark Busters offers a written lifetime guarantee of support - even if you move or re-house your dog - the support goes with the dog.
Now, THAT’s peace of mind!
