I was teaching her bite inhibition because she was really too rough... I tried yelping, but it only excited her... so I started using time outs... but I think I may have created a problem. At first I just locked her in the bathroom for a minute or so... but then I started stepping outside... now I feel like she thinks it's a punishment when I leave for work... how do I let her know it's not. I don't want her to feel like she's doing something wrong every time I leave the house.

Rescued a dog 3 weeks ago from an abandon house, she wont go to the bathroom in the house minus the one time but rarely goes to the bathroom after feedings and when we take her out about every 2hrs. The only time she seems to go is if it's a long walk and even then she may not poop.

I have a 1 year 5 month old Toy poodle who is just a big ball of fluff. I would call myself his mother and he takes a liking to me over my parents but he still pays attention to them as well. For some background, he is always around me and even when i sleep for long periods of time he stays and sleeps the whole time with me and he follows me to the bathroom and such. When he hears them moving from the living room he throws a barking fit and jumps down and rush's to check it out. Minute or so later he's right back in bed with me. Another thing is when they go past my room to go to the bathroom down the hall and he barks at them then as well. If they attempt to come into my room and past the door he growls and barks but when they come closer and come to the bed he is instantly playful. rnMy question is what could be causing him to bark when he knows the sounds and the people? Is he being protective of me but in a non-serious way? He did the same when i brought him over to my Boyfriends house and the door was closed while i laid in bed. Once he opened the door my dog threw a bark fit and then calmed down once my boyfriend laid in bed with me. Looking forward to any response Thanks!

Our dog has problem with being touched around the face. He will snap. He also snaps when fearful. He is an older dog (8 years). We are not sure why he has this problem. We've had him since he was a puppy and tried to get him to feel more comfortable. I just don't want him to snap at other people. I'm concerned because at his last vet visit, they had a hard time trying to examine him, as he started snapping at them. I had to be alone with him and put the leash on him for them.
