About Your Boston Dog Trainer
I first heard about Bark Busters from a corporate headhunter in March 2006. We were discussing careers – I had just been laid off from my job in a New Hampshire firm, and had spent over 30 years in the corporate world. It was time to start a business, but what business? My headhunter friend looked at me and said, “Do you like dogs?”

About Bark Busters Dog Training
Well, that was nearly 12 years ago, and I’ve never looked back. Afghans to Yorkies, and several thousand in between. Puppies, pinschers, pullers and poopers – you would think I’ve seen it all. But then I meet a new client, and the wonder starts all over again. Sure, dogs speak the same language, and I’m pretty good at speaking back. But every dog is unique, because every pack is unique. Lucky for us, we can teach you how to speak dog. It takes several hours to learn, and several more weeks to master, but the rewards are many, and soon there is balance and harmony in the family (see pack).

You know, there is an old saying that says you can’t teach an old dog a new trick. The truth is, you can teach an old dog a new trick – it’s easy. Attempting a new trick, or erasing an annoying behavior, takes patience and leadership, but once you make your expectations clear to your canine, then off you go. Speaking canine to your dog is the only way to go, and we teach you to master the language that is clear and understandable to your pet. Doesn’t that make sense?

Boston Puppy Training
Now, a quick word about puppies. You can teach a new dog an old trick, but it takes a lot of “calm and still”. We say that often at Bark Busters, but calm and still is impressive to dogs of all ages, even if they are just starting out. I just love working with pups. I’ve come to learn that biting, chewing, stealing, tearing, barking etc. are all hard-wired behaviors that dogs are born with. It’s my job to train you to set new ground rules for the pup, and we set these new rules based on your den (see household). They’re your rules, not mine, and once we set the rules and correct bad behaviors we can begin to teach behaviors that you can endorse and support.

Finally, I work with your dog in a very hands-on manner during the initial session. Your dog learns quickly that I’m different as soon as I walk through the door. I gain their respect and spend some time gaining their trust. Then I turn it over to you – that’s right, you. Here at Bark Busters we know that to get lasting results, it’s the leader of the household (see den) that must take charge. I’m by your side, but I move to the bottom of the pack order and let you run the show. Trust me, you can do it… call me, and I’ll show you.
