About Stephanie
Welcome! I’m Stephanie Curtis, your Bark Busters Dog Trainer and Dog Behavioral Therapist in the San Fernando Valley.
As a certified dog behavioral therapist and dog trainer, I conduct in-home, private, one-on-one dog behavioral training. I partner with you to resolve the most challenging dog behavior issues, and teach basic dog obedience and puppy training. I conduct my dog and puppy training in your home, where you and your canine companion is most comfortable, will learn the quickest and most effectively, and where most problems occur. My goal is to solve the communication barrier between you and your dog! By teaching and guiding you to use dogs' natural communication methods including voice tones and body language. My methods are humane - no shock collars or prong collars. I also don't believe in unnecessary "treat-training". Simply, I teach you how to better communicate with your dog.
With nearly a decade of experience in the holistic healing space, Stephanie has dedicated herself to helping people live better lives. As a dog behaviorist, she combines that experience with her love for animals.
Her passion for dogs began in early childhood, where she grew up in upstate New York. Stephanie would constantly beg her father for a dog. After countless times hearing no, she finally learned that her father had a dog growing up that he loved dearly. When his pup passed away, he struggled severely with that loss. After her father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, it was his best friend’s dog, Bear, who would always bring him the most joy. Stephanie witnessed first-hand the energy shift a dog could bring in someone’s life, even when faced with such difficult health challenges.
Stephanie has lived in California on and off for the last 8 years. Her focus is working with pups and their families in southern California, focusing on the San Fernando Valley. Building a connection between owners and their dogs is something Stephanie especially prides herself on. Her goal is to create open communication and harmony between the owner and dog, specific to each client’s needs. She found Bark Busters methods to be the only truly holistic, yet powerful and effective training option available to dogs and their owners. With each training lesson, Stephanie aims to improve the bond and relationship between humans and their pets.
