Bark Busters Home Dog Training Central Jersey
I can't say enough about Keith! He has literally changed our lives. Before Keith, we got a puppy 6 months ago and we have been struggling with her behavior. She just seemed out of control. She jumped on all of our guests, nipped at everyone's hands, terrible on a leash, jumped on counters, picked through the garbage, and even took food out of our hands. She barked at us when she wanted something, and barked at people who came to visit. We just couldn't enjoy her. We found that she would have to be in her crate a lot because no one wanted to be around her and it made us feel bad. We had lost the joy of owning a dog and we are such dog people. Keith came in for the first time and gave us a lesson on how to be a pack leader. He taught us how to 'speak dog' and it was like he flipped a switch! He even told us ahead of time, that once we showed Harley that we were in charge, she would change her behavior. To be honest, we didn't believe him! We had tried another trainer before Keith who basically said that Pitbulls are not for everyone. Keith came in, taught us, and by the time he left which was about two hours later, Harley was a different dog. We still couldn't believe it! It has now been two weeks and Harley is a joy to have around. She no longer jumps on anyone, steals food, barks at us, nips at us or counter surfs. Her leash skills are so much better as well. Keith came back to see her today and when he rang the doorbell, I made Harley sit and wait to greet him and that is what she did! She was so happy to see him, but didn't jump. I wish I had before and after videos. Not only are we so happy, but Harley is too. You can see it in her posture and behavior. It actually looks like she is smiling. She is a happy dog having proper leadership which is what dogs need! I also want to say that everyone told me that the only way to train a dog is with a shock collar. Keith proved that we do not have to hurt a dog to get them to follow our leadership! Also, we can still give love and receive love from a dog and lead them well! I have learned so much in just two sessions. I can't thank Keith enough! I highly recommend him!! Thank you Keith!! From one dog lover to another...it has been an amazing experience!Denise B.July 1 2017

A dog is pack animal, and as such needs a leader. Left to their own devices, a dog will often take over the leadership... which will result in many unwanted behaviors. These behaviors include:
Barking: People tend to think that barking is natural to a dog, it is not. A dog will bark to alert the pack that there is a threat, or bark at the owner because they want something. Both stop once the dog knows that the owner is a good leader.
Pulling on leash: The dog will want to go first if they perceive they are in charge, as the leader always leads. This also changes as the owner assumes leadership.
Separation Anxiety: The dog feels that they "own" the owner, and that will manifest as barking or possible destruction of property as the dog acts out as they didn't give "permission" for the owner to leave. Again, this changes as the owner assumes leadership.
Aggression: Is fear based as the dog will have fear from being in charge in a domestic situation, which they are not equipped to do. Also solved through giving the owner leadership.
Other behaviors we eliminate/teach:
- Nipping, Chewing, Mouthing
- Basic Obedience (Sit, Stay, Down, Come)
- Digging in the Yard
- Toileting in the house
- Puppy Training
- Sibling Rivalry
- Over Excitability
- And MORE!
How do we do it? We use natural methods (voice tones and body language rather than treats or physical methods) to give you leadership over your dog! I have trained over 2,000 dogs in the last nine years. Historically, you will see 80% to 90% improvement in the very first lesson. The most popular client comment after the first lesson: "Whose dog is this?" The dog appears to be different because the owner is now different, and the dog responds accordingly! This ultimately leads to a fun, happy and well-balanced relationship with your dog. Isn't that what you want? After all, a dog should add to your life... nott become a detraction or a source of constant worry!
I work in your home, because that's where many of the unwanted behaviors occur. Many veterinarians and clients refer me, as they have seen the results of Bark Busters training.

The Bark Busters Home Dog Training Methods helps solve dog behavior issues such as aggression towards people or other animals
- Cure embarrassing habits like barking, jumping up on people, scratching & whining at doors or inappropriate toileting.
- Create an obedient dog or puppy that will happily walk on the lead without tugging, sit or stay on command, and come immediately when called.
- Set off-limit areas for your dog.
- Reduce the stress of separation anxiety without the need for sedatives or drugs.
We teach you to communicate with your pet.
Blah, blah, blah, bad dog! blah blah. Do you think your dog isn't listening to you? Maybe you're simply not speaking his language. You may have heard of dog whisperer or dog listener techniques. The Bark Busters dog training method is based on the way dogs communicate with each other and how they learn from older, more important dogs in the pack. This is what makes our dog training unique and effective.
Why do we train in your home?
Your dog lives with a family, in a home. This is where he misbehaves most often so this is where training is most effective. Dogs learn by association. Bark Busters teaches your dog to listen in the home environment. If he does not listen at home, he will not listen outside your territory.
Training in your home is a one-on-one system without the distraction of other dogs or the stress of being sent away for training.
Of course, where you are experiencing problems outside the home such as pulling on the lead or dog aggression, we will set up controlled training situations in the park or wherever is most practical.
