Bark Busters Home Dog Training Kalamazoo MI
Welcome to Bark Busters - Best Dog Training Kalamazoo MI
After owning dogs most of my life, I was shocked to think that my dogs might have a behavior issue until one day a neighbor complained "strongly" about my dog barking and chasing him when he passed by my house on his four wheeler. That's when I contacted Bark Busters Home Dog Training for help.As is the case with most dog owners, I understood the basics of how to train my dogs to behave, but it wasn't until after my training from Bark Busters that I really began to understand the reasons behind the behavior and how to correct my dogs in a way that they could understand and respect me.I was hooked on the training methods from the start.Since they were logical from a dog's perspective, the methods worked. At the time, I was so intrigued by the methods that I wanted to become a Bark Buster dog behavioral therapist too.It was nearly a year later that the opportunity presented itself, and I jumped at the chance to help other frustrated people to understand their own dog's behavior issues.
I am now a professional dog behavioral therapist and trainer having graduated from the Bark Busters Home Dog Training program, which includes extensive education and testing in areas such as pack law, canine communication, canine learning, training techniques, assessment and diagnosis, and practical handling. I was trained under, and was certified by, the Bark Busters team of Master Trainers.
Since that time, I have had the pleasure to work with many amazing people and their dogs.I consider myself a coach to the owners so that they become the best trainers possible for their dog. We learn to address the particular issue that they have using natural, positive, dog-friendly Bark Busters methods. Some of the dog behaviors that I have worked with are: dog to dog aggression; barking; fearful dogs; overly friendly dogs, i.e. jumping on visitors; sibling rivalry; separation anxiety and noise anxiety; introduction of the family dog to the new baby; leash manners; door manners; and basic obedience.
Not everyone calls because they have a dog behavior issue; many people just want to get their new dog or pup started off on the right paw. This new interaction process takes time and effort to see the world from the dog's perspective and to demonstrate leadership in a way that they can understand. I love helping people and watching the relationship between the dog and owner become stronger with a balance of bond, trust and respect.
I can help you with any issue your dog is having and to more effectively communicate with your dog to develop a stronger, happier relationship.
how we can help you and your dog
The Bark Busters Home Dog Training Methods helps solve dog behavior issues such as aggression towards people or other animals
- Cure embarrassing habits like barking, jumping up on people, scratching & whining at doors or inappropriate toileting.
- Create an obedient dog or puppy that will happily walk on the lead without tugging, sit or stay on command, and come immediately when called.
- Set off-limit areas for your dog.
- Reduce the stress of separation anxiety without the need for sedatives or drugs.
We teach you to communicate with your pet.
Blah, blah, blah, bad dog! blah blah. Do you think your dog isn't listening to you? Maybe you're simply not speaking his language. You may have heard of dog whisperer or dog listener techniques. The Bark Busters dog training method is based on the way dogs communicate with each other and how they learn from older, more important dogs in the pack. This is what makes our dog training unique and effective.
Why do we train in your home?
Your dog lives with a family, in a home. This is where he misbehaves most often so this is where training is most effective. Dogs learn by association. Bark Busters teaches your dog to listen in the home environment. If he does not listen at home, he will not listen outside your territory.
Training in your home is a one-on-one system without the distraction of other dogs or the stress of being sent away for training.
Of course, where you are experiencing problems outside the home such as pulling on the lead or dog aggression, we will set up controlled training situations in the park or wherever is most practical.
