Just wanted to take a moment to send you a note of thanks. We haven't seen you in about 4 months, but wanted you to know what a huge impact you have had on us and helping to train our dog, Bentley! Bentley is a new dog these days. His leash aggression is about 85% gone... the other 15% is still a work in progress. He does have some instances that catch us off guard sometimes when a dog is being aggressively forward with him, but he is quick to correct. Water bombs are still our go to when needed as he reacts very well to them. We still use them whenever we visit a new place to help put him in a submissive state when needed. We can literally just show him that we have one in our backpack and we won't even need to use it. We have been working really hard with him over the last 6 months and have seen SUCH a difference! We have enjoyed a lot of family outings and hikes in the past several months with the cooler weather... many of which have been in VERY close proximity to many different types of dogs and he's done great! However, most of the time, corrections are not needed these days and we are so thankful to you for that. Bentley is very obedient, comes when he is called, and is getting over his shyness is public little by little. He almost always looks us in the eye now when he senses something off and reacts well to whatever we tell him to do. Yesterday, we were out and about a lot in this beautiful weather. We visited a nursery to get some new plants for our backyard and everyone there was complimenting how well trained and behaved his was. He even let the store owner give him a scratch down. His ears were perked and happy almost the whole time we were there... much different than his typical ears back, low walk, scardy-cat posture he usually puts off. Then we headed over to Lowe's to pick up a few more things in the outdoor section for our backyard, and again, so many compliments. He even saw a dog there and had absolutely no reaction to it because he looked at us and we told him to leave it. Amazing. The cashier was complementing him so much and it just made me realize how grateful we are for you. I needed to tell you. It hasn't been an easy road with this one, but we put in the hard work and listened to the guidelines that you taught us, and it has all paid off. Thank you for being so patient with him, and with us. =) THANK YOU for what you do! We couldn't have done it without you! We are planning on getting a puppy friend for him next summer, so I'm sure we will be calling you then. =) Until then, thanks again for everything! We appreciate you! You have made such a difference in our lives! Warmly, Kristyn & Aaron G.Kristyn G.February 21 2016
Welcome to Bark Busters Santa Clarita!
Hello, my name is Scott Beckman and I am your Bark Busters Dog Trainer for the Santa Clarita Valley.
By now, you have probably decided that your dog needs some help and that group obedience classes just aren't the way to go for you. Well, you are probably right. You see, most people who take their dog into an obedience class ( Group Training) are looking to fix a few behavior issues: jumping up, pulling on the leash, barking incessantly, escaping, digging, house potty training, aggression, door rushing, counter surfing, chewing and separation issues to name a few. Unfortunately, these kinds of issues are not addressed in the group dog training environment. And, if you're lucky you might get the trainers attention for almost a full 5 minutes in the chaos of a group dog training session.
Teaching your dog to sit won't tell him or her that you are a good pack leader. And although s/he might respond to some commands, the bad behavioral issues still exist.
Did you know that your dog probably doesn't realize s/he's misbehaving, or understand how frustrated you are with her actions? Often, a poorly behaving dog is doing her very best to fulfill her responsibilities as s/he understands them.
ENTER BARK BUSTERS!
For almost 30 years, Bark Busters Home Dog Training has been successfully training dog owners in their own homes, the laws of pack leadership through canine communication. This is a simple yet very powerful system of communication that most anyone can master.
I Train You First! Once you have learned the proper body language, voice tones and timing, your dog will start to respond to you almost immediately. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly dogs change their tune once the owners take over the pack setting.
Never harsh, the techniques I use are simple and effective and no, I DO NOT use shock collars.
No treats either. After all, the leader of a pack does not need to treat a pack member with a "cookie" to get him to behave, right? That's just bribery after all, and it gets expensive as well!
No alpha rolling or physical punishment whatsoever. Like I said before, I am never harsh with your dog. I'll leave alpha rolling, physical punishment and treat training for the TV dog trainers. I want my clients dogs to "Choose to listen to their owners" rather than be tricked of forced, Just like in a natural pack setting. Besides, you will be teaching your dog the rules of your pack, I will be there to guide you.
A balanced system: One that works almost immediately because your dog already knows canine communication and pack law . . . s/he is just waiting for you to join the conversation.
Different Package Pricing for Any Budget. "How much does all of this cost Scott? "
This is usually the first question I hear after I hear all of the dog's issues. I almost always start my potential clients with a free assessment to see if my training system is a good fit for their family dynamic. I come to your home, meet you, your family and of course your dog(s). From there we can discuss the different training packages and prices that you can budget for. My package pricing begins at $399. Contact me for more information and to possibly set up a free consultation in your home in Santa Clarita.

how we can help you and your dog
The Bark Busters Home Dog Training Methods helps solve dog behavior issues such as aggression towards people or other animals
- Cure embarrassing habits like barking, jumping up on people, scratching & whining at doors or inappropriate toileting.
- Create an obedient dog or puppy that will happily walk on the lead without tugging, sit or stay on command, and come immediately when called.
- Set off-limit areas for your dog.
- Reduce the stress of separation anxiety without the need for sedatives or drugs.
We teach you to communicate with your pet.
Blah, blah, blah, bad dog! blah blah. Do you think your dog isn't listening to you? Maybe you're simply not speaking his language. You may have heard of dog whisperer or dog listener techniques. The Bark Busters dog training method is based on the way dogs communicate with each other and how they learn from older, more important dogs in the pack. This is what makes our dog training unique and effective.
Why do we train in your home?
Your dog lives with a family, in a home. This is where he misbehaves most often so this is where training is most effective. Dogs learn by association. Bark Busters teaches your dog to listen in the home environment. If he does not listen at home, he will not listen outside your territory.
Training in your home is a one-on-one system without the distraction of other dogs or the stress of being sent away for training.
Of course, where you are experiencing problems outside the home such as pulling on the lead or dog aggression, we will set up controlled training situations in the park or wherever is most practical.
