Christen has been helping me and my anxious rescue pup transition after a recent move. She has given me tips and tricks to make him feel more safe and calm in our new home and has supported me with refresher chats when I need them. Bark busters was recommended to me through a friend and I'm so happy I followed their advice and start re-training my dog, Louie, with them. Louie had no serious issues but I found that over the years of more traditional training methods of engaging and rewarding through treats was backfiring in moments when I didn't have treats. Louie had very "selective" hearing. If there was no cookie in my hand -he wasn't interested in doing what I'd asked. This became dangerous one afternoon when he got off his leash in a busy neighborhood and wouldn't "come" to me because he knew I didn't have anything delicious to give him.
Kevin taught me how to restructure my relationship with Louie through really simple adjustments around everyday things. These adjustments lead to Louie understanding what I was wanting from him by communicating and demonstrating it in a way he could recognize.
I love knowing that I can call on Kevin to help me with any new behavioral issue that comes up in the future. It really works and it works quickly.

It is no exaggeration to say that Kevin from Bark Busters literally changed my and my dog's lives. I absolutely cannot recommend him enough.

Holly has always been an anxious dog, but after the pandemic, this got even worse. She became very fearful and aggressive towards any people she didn't know. She is very cute and eye-catching, so people are always wanting to pet her. But when she starts barking, she's so loud and scares the heck out of people.

She would bark at any person who approached her, anyone jogging, anyone carrying things -- and sometimes at random people who did nothing at all. She even started nipping at their heels, and tore someone's pant leg. She did the same thing to any new person who tried to enter the house, too. It got to the point where I couldn't take her anywhere without fear, and I couldn't have anyone come to my house unless I had her locked away.

I was terrified that she was going to bite someone, and I felt awful that she was so anxious all the time. None of the training techniques I tried worked! I saw several trainers, and did research on my own as well. The problem is that Holly isn't very food motivated, and isn't toy motivated either. Positive reinforcement just wasn't working, but I didn't want to be cruel to my dog either. I was starting to think that I'd have to make her wear a muzzle or a shock collar.

I found Bark Busters, and though I was hesitant to spend so much for training up front, it has paid off tenfold. Kevin is amazing. He really understands how a dog's brain works, and he taught me how to communicate with Holly in a way she can understand (but not in any BS "alpha dominance" kind of way).

The training helped INSTANTLY. Within days of our first session, I was able to bring someone new into the house without her scaring them away. Now that she understands what I want from her, and that she can rely on me to handle any uncertain situations, she has become so much more relaxed. Walks are a breeze now, and I can let her off leash in the park with no trouble.

I would recommend Bark Busters to anyone, but especially if you have a dog who doesn't respond to "traditional" training that's only reinforced with treats. I promise you will not regret it!

Absolutely would recommend! I have a two and a half year old Labrador with a ton of energy. Specially, I was looking for help with my dog to not pull when on his leash, not excitedly greeting guests at the door, not jumping on people, keeping his attention on me when outside, and communicating better with my dog overall. In just one session with Kevin we made serious and lasting improvements! Kevin gave us tailored training exercises to do daily that are clearly having a positive impact. I’ve really appreciated Kevin’s approach to uniquely understand my dog, which has allowed for a highly personalized training program.

On top of all the good behavior the training sessions have brought, I can tell that my dog really enjoys them and the daily exercises with me. It’s all led to a deeper bond with my dog.

Bark Busters is amazing! These trainers give you the instruction and tools to train effectively. They don’t use treats too heavily or clickers or shock collars. All you need is your voice, your presence, and your body language. I’ve seen amazing improvements in my pup since working with them. They are also so available for questions and concerns- they text back promptly and thoroughly. I would recommend to anyone looking for the best trainers. 10/10!!

It has been a while since I have had a puppy and Harley is like no other I have ever had. He was a handful. After my first session with Kevin I knew this would be a challenge for both Harley and me. I did my homework and every time Kevin came there was improvement. We have had 4-5 sessions and Harley is a wonderful dog to be around. The change in his behavior is amazing. My walking group has noticed the change too. Thank you Kevin for your support and guidance. Bark Busters is GREAT!

I cannot say enough good things about this training! Our dog Zoey is a rescue and has struggled with behavioral problems and anxiety for almost 8 years. I have tried (and wasted so much money on) trainers and training methods that just have't worked. She is a very sweet and intelligent dog that has been through a lot and we just didn't know how to help her! When her issues started to escalate (aggression towards people) I did some research and reached out to Kevin. Right from the start he was great at communicating and made the process so easy and pleasant. He even reached out to let us know that an earlier appointment date had opened up -this was a godsend because we were pretty desperate for help at this point. He taught us so much about Zoey, her potential, and how to communicate with her more clearly and effectively. I would argue we needed the training more than she did. His approach focuses on clear, consistent communication and earning respect through establishing rules and boundaries. It takes commitment and consistency from us, but I was completely amazed how well she responded to this training. It's not like the reward based "performing tricks" methods we've been taught before (which doesn't ultimately work). Working with Kevin has completely transformed the way we interact with Zoey and in short, she is simply a different dog. She seems happier, less anxious, and eager to adhere to the training. Kevin is by far the best Dog Trainer ever! We wish we found him before we wasted so much time and money on the two we had before him! They’re amazing. Kevin is my dog trainer and he has helped to turn my dogs behavior completely around. She had issues with aggression and biting and many other things and none of those things are an issue now. I can take her places and know she’s not going to lash out at someone. She plays with other dogs with no aggression and she has fun. I would highly recommend this company. They know why they’re doing.

I worked with Christine & Michael last week to get help with correcting my 11-year-old Springer/Aussie/Border Collie mix. Her barking has always been an issue but during the pandemic since I’m always home, it has gotten out of control. She’s also aggressive, hyper & extremely anxious. I was very worried it was a lost cause given her age but Bark Busters taught me that you really can teach an old dog new tricks! I was absolutely blown away that in just 1 session, they were able to coach me on how to properly train Lola to 90% improvement! These people are amazing. On my case kevin is our trainer, he is very professional and patient even for my dog. I have a french bulldog and shes very stubborn. All of what kevin told us made sense and worked out great with my dog. It was easy to follow through. I would recommend them to any furparents out there.

We’ve been with Kevin and Bark Busters for over 3 months now for two 5-year-old boys who struggle with dog aggression and some general obedience. After getting the basics down and establishing command, we’ve seen dramatic improvement in their behavior. Kevin is patient, kind and explains everything thoroughly. He truly teaches you how to establish a connection and a dialogue with your dog that isn’t about yelling or punishment, it’s a whole new way of thinking about the relationship you have with your pet and it really works. I found out about Bark Busters because of my neighbors. Their pit bull changed what seemed like overnight from being anxious and crazy to obedient and calm. We booked Kevin and Christen to train our German Shepherd puppy. This truly may be the best dog training in the world! They really understand how dogs minds work and teach you how to communicate so they understand. Bella was starting to nip our hands and play rough, but they taught us that grabbing her too much during play can cause this behavior. We learned to set boundaries around the door and walk on a leash calmly with no pulling. I would recommend Bark Busters to anyone who really wants to understand the nature of dogs and have obedience....without bribing them with treats!

Kevin and Christen have been wonderful with our puppy Indy. They are both very professional and gave us a lot of actionable home work to work on with our dog. Their methodology is not about just training the dogs but teaching us how dogs think and how best to help both sides communicate with one other. I can't wait to continue working together to see our puppy grow and learn.

Started meeting with Kevin a couple of months ago specifically for leash aggression and some general obedience for two five year old boys and the improvement has been dramatic to say the least. Whereas my boys were almost uncontrollable around other dogs before, simple training techniques focused mainly on body language and tone of voice have made noticeable differences within a few weeks. By keeping them focused on the walks and on my leading them, both boys have progressed more than I expected. Could not recommend Kevin and Bark Busters enough!

If you’re looking for a dog trainer in the Los Angeles area, Christen is a miracle worker! I have a 2 year old lab that still has many puppy tendencies, barking, jumping, tearing up my stuff when I’m gone... We worked on her separation anxiety by using calming exercises and establishing leadership. She will be back to train more on walking without pulling the leash, but the drastic improvement in just one training is incredible! Highly recommend!!!

10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!! I just had a 3 hour session with Christen and Kevin with my dog, Hudson. He's an approximately one year old Boxer/Staffie mix who was rescued from the streets of Venice Beach. I have had him for almost 4 months now, and although he has come a long way since I got him, he still needs a lot of help with his fears. During this session, I learned how to communicate WAY better to him in a way he could actually understand. He immediately started responding to their techniques and lessons. I could not be more proud of Hudson and can not thank Christen and Kevin enough, even after only one session. I can't wait to do our homework and watch him grow even more.

Kevin was a huge help in training both me and the dogs! He goes very in-depth with every concern I have and I definitely am making very good progress with them. He's always available to training sessions and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

Kevin gave my husband and I some fantastic lessons and advice for our 2 year old beagle mix, Smokey. He spent 3 hours with us going through dog psychology and helping us address basic behavioral issues, such as barking at strangers, exerting more control while on walks and establishing boundaries. He also shared some great training tools and toys. I highly recommend Bark-busters! Their tips and advice are fact-based and they actually work!

Kevin and Christen have helped me and my dog Ginger come to a more peaceful household. First they came to the house so we could work with Ginger in her space. Ginger wasn't super into strangers being in her house at first, but they were calm and let her adapt. The first part of the training session was more to do with the hows and whys their method works. Kevin and Christen are very informative, and basically they teach you a language (both body and verbal) that your dog can understand. I was allowed to ask all the questions I needed to feel comfortable with actual training.
At first in the training you might feel a little goofy talking dog. Fortunately you are in your own house and everyone is doing it. We repeated the training exercise until Ginger and I were on the same page. Next we moved on to tackle the outside world. Kevin and Christen provided a special harness and other training tools that are humane, safe, and non-painful. Overall we worked for about 3 hours and the training tools stayed with me and Ginger.
What I like is that I free like I have a way to talk to my dog that doesn't feel like I'm yelling all the time. This is not a treat based program, but rather a trust exercise to get you and your dog into a team.

We've been with Bark Busters for a few months now, and we've already seen dramatic improvement with our two boys. Our behavioral therapist, Kevin, has been great from the beginning. He explains things easily and without ever talking down to you, and because of him we have a better understanding and better relationship with our dogs. They're less anxious and more trusting, and happier than ever. I couldn't recommend Bark Busters enough.

I reached out to a family member upon getting my puppy Mochi because she was more than a handful. She told me she had heard Bark Busters was the best in the business. Then I met Christen and Kevin and I can wholeheartedly say I don’t know where I would be without their guidance in raising my dog.

I rescued a 2 month old Maltese puppy, and immediately upon arrival she owned me. Mochi would use the potty only in the house and never outside, would chew up and destroy everything in site, and the would never listen to me. After their first visit, I called my girlfriend the most calm I had been in months. I had Mochi completely under control and felt the first sense of a strong owner and dog relationship.

Throughout the past few months they have provided so much help with her diet, going on walks, and most recently her separation anxiety. Every time an issue has risen up, I’ve had no doubt that Christen and Kevin would have a solution. Time and time again they’ve shown up with great tactics that yield super fast results. They are also such kind people and care deeply about the work they do and the animals they work with.

So lucky to have found them and hope many other families will as well :)
