Welcome. I am Karen Montalvo, your Bark Busters Dog Trainer and Dog Behavioral Therapist in Nashville. Bark Busters has been part of my life for more than 13 years. I have had dogs in my life since I can remember and Bark Busters has taught me how to appreciate their value in life even more that I thought before.
Through the years I have experienced all kinds, sizes, breeds, and personalities of dogs and every one of them has responded to Bark Busters’ humane technique. After my initial visit there is always a noticeable difference in their dog’s behavior. Several years ago Ms. Benita said, “Karen was very patient and took the time to practice with us.” I am building a relationship with each of my clients and their dog. It is so important that I make it clear what they need to know to be able to convert their unruly pet to become an integral part of their family.
I especially feel rewarded when a client of mine calls after training and asks me for do a refresher or they have a problem behavior that needs ‘nipping-in-the-bud’. I am their support from the very beginning. Life throws us curve balls and dogs are affected by changes in our lives, so I’m there to help transitions.
I also realize that a dog can be the ‘undoing’ of a family, relationship or marriage! There is no reason for that to happen when Bark Busters is there to help. Oft times owners think their dog is exhibiting strange behavior, when in fact, they are acting just like a canine! I am there to help everyone understand what is expected as a member of the same pack and what their position is in that pack.
I love that teaching each of my clients how to better communicate and understand dog language transforms their relationship with their pet. Teaching and learning in their environment is critical also. After all, that’s “where it’s happening” for all of them. It is so rewarding to see the dogs respond and the owners learning how to communicate more effectively with their dog. Several years ago Miss Jane declared, “If they can work on Charley, they can work on any dog!” And that is very true with Bark Busters.
