If you are reading this then you're probably frustrated with your dog's behavior and you may be comparing dog trainers and dog training programs.
The Bark Busters dog training program is unlike any other dog training system.
Most dog training systems meet once per week at a pre-determined time, a pre-determined day, a pre-determined place for a pre-determined number of weeks, and they will cover pre-determined obedience issues regardless of what your specific issues may be.
That is NOT the Bark Busters Home Dog Training way.
Home Dog Training
I come to you! I meet you at your home where your dog is the most comfortable, less stressed, most receptive and most likely to display bad behaviors. We will also work with your dog outdoors on socialization, distraction, and issues such as leash pulling.
Personalized Dog Training
Bark Busters does not believe in a "one size fits all" dog training approach like you'll sometimes see in group or puppy training classes. Instead, I develop a personalized dog training and dog behavior modification program based on your dog's temperament and issues as well as your home environment. With Bark Busters, we will customize a program for you and meet at the time of your choice, on the day of your choice, in your home, for as many weeks, months or years as you need us as we are goal-oriented - not time-oriented - and we will cover any and all behavioral issues that are frustrating you.
Dogs of any breed, any age and any issue are trainable. Most customers see immediate positive behavioral changes in their dogs during our initial 3-hour training session. You will be amazed at how quickly your dog learns and you will feel encouraged and empowered to keep training!
Positive Dog Training
Unlike some dog trainers, Bark Busters does not use harsh dog training techniques - we don't believe in shock collars, prong collars, or physical punishment. Nor do we teach you to bribe your dog with food or unnecessary treats to extort good behavior. Our dog training focuses communication, and on positive reinforcement and praise, which produces longer-lasting results than treat training or force.
We speak dog! Dogs can't speak English, so it's no wonder they can't understand our verbal commands. I will teach you how to communicate with your dog in a language he understands. You will learn how to use your body language and vocal tones to get your dog to focus on you and respond to your directions. By reinforcing our dog training techniques 10 - 15 minutes/day, you will soon have a well-mannered and obedient dog.
Any Dog = Any Breed. Any Age. Any Issue.
Because all dogs speak the same language, our dog training system works for ANY dog, ANY age, ANY issue! Puppies and their owners can start off on the right paw, eliminating behavior issues before they can even start, and old dogs CAN learn new tricks.
Behavioral problems are treatable but prevention is easier! Do you want a puppy who listens to you even when you don't have a treat in your hand? Do you want a dog who doesn't wear you out with housebreaking or chew your furniture? Ask about my puppy program to help you build a strong, life-long foundation for good behavior.
No one is more familiar with the effectiveness of the local dog training alternatives than our own veterinarians, and those in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island overwhelmingly recommend Bark Busters. They know our mission is to prevent dogs from being euthanized or abandoned due to bad behavior. Too many dog owners trade in their dog in hopes of replacing him or her with a "good dog." I believe any dog can be a "good dog" with the right training and leadership.
The key word is HAPPY. After many years as a funeral director, guiding, and supporting grieving families through the process of losing a loved one, I felt the need to transition from the sadness into a HAPPIER lifestyle. Over the years, I often thought about making a career move into a more upbeat, fun, and exciting business; however, I did not want to lose the reward of helping people get through a difficult time in their life.
Bark Busters was the answer! At Bark Busters, I help families live a happier life together with their dogs! As a Bark Busters Master Dog Trainer and Behavioral Dog Therepist, I continue to help people through difficult situations, and I can partner with them to SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS! I can fix these problems, and make it better, not just make it bearable.
Once you've learned the Bark Busters training techniques, you'll wonder why any one would train a dog any other way!
Calling Scot was one of the best things we've ever done. Our dog Duncan was exhibiting extreme aggression when we tried to invite our family and friends into our home. It became incredibly stressful for us to constantly be on guard and worried about how he would react, and ultimately we began to avoid any situations where Duncan would interact with...
We called on Scot after over a year of escalating aggressive and distressing behavior by our 3.5 year-old pug. After moving into a new home, when our pug was about 2 years old, he began to showing signs of dominance, aggression and separation anxiety. For example, he perceived anything on our new, large screen TV as a threat, and he would repeatedl...
Scott was as professional and thoughtful as we could have hoped for. Our first session went extremely well as he really listen to our needs and addressed our concerns. His presentation was very thorough and not only addressed our concerns, but gave us a good basic understanding of the way canines think and act. By the time he left, there was al...
My husband and I were very impressed with Scots's training of us because lets face it it is the owners that need the training. He explained things to us in terms that are very easy to understand and we were very comfortable with him being in our home and with our Sabrina.
Scot impressed us from the first moments he came through the door. He had complete control of Bailey within minutes just by the correct communication. We are amazed at how much he taught us and the amount of improvement we made under his guidance in this first visit. We are completely convinced that if we work with Scot and carry out his metho...
Scot was amazing and so incredibly helpful there are not enough words to say how grateful we are. Our Molly was a rescue and we have been having so many behavioral issues that we lost hope it could be better. Scot came in and within one training session taught us & our 2 children ways to fix our behavior to ultimately fix our dogs issues. We are...
For four long weeks, my husband and I, experienced dog owners, tried in vain to integrate our new English Springer, Finley. Biting, snapping, growling, destruction, leaping, barking, the list was long. If he was like this at 12 weeks, how was he going to be at a year old and 50 lbs. It is vital to set the foundations to a wonderful dog as soon a...
We did a 3-hour session with Scott, and it changed our lives! Using the (human) techniques that he taught us, our lab-mix, Asbury, is now an absolute pleasure to live with, and not the horrible counter-surfing, furniture destroying, barking monster we thought her to be. Truth be told, the problem was with us, and we are absolutely amazed at the tra...
I can not begin to state how amazing this training program is. Our dog was the cause of a lot of stress due to his behavior. He would bite, bark, ignore, jump up on everything, and at times be very aggressive towards us. Scot's training was simple and highly effective. He takes a whole family approach to make sure everyone is on board. Within the f...
Scot was great! Very helpful and patient. Explained what we needed to do and what we were doing wrong and gave us a lot of good information. Both Lola and Sasha have made significant progress in just over a week. I would (and have already) recommended Scot to others in need of help.Kim K | Farmington, Connecticut
