Hi my name is Tommy Meyerhoeffer and I am professional dog trainer and behavioral therapist with Bark Busters Home Dog Training. We have successfully been training hundreds of dogs since 2013.
Why have we been successful?
Our Bark Busters dog training methods are unlike any other. First, we come to you, training your dog in your home where we have your dog’s full attention and where most issues occur. Secondly we use only humane techniques – no treat training (too short term), or shock collars (too abusive). Instead, we teach you how to communicate with your dog using the pack language he understands. I will teach you to use your voice and body language to get your dog to do exactly what you want him to do.
The result? You’ll have a great relationship with your dog based on love, loyalty and trust. Practice these techniques for only 10 minutes a day and you will be surprised how well your dog responds. You’ll see awesome results after the first session. Together we’ll develop a one-on-one plan customized to your dog and your issues.
My background is in communications, which is fitting since I teach you how to communicate with your dog in a language he understands.
I am a lifelong animal lover and have always been fascinated by dogs and why they do the things they do. Remember you can’t speak dog and your dog can’t speak English, which is why mis-communications occur.
In college I started working with animals, working as a dog walker and at a dog day care. As much as I loved them, I was often frustrated by the dogs I took care of because they were so unruly or aggressive towards other animals.
After rescuing my Pitbull, I started learning about dog behavior and how dogs work in nature.
I’ve been working with dogs since 2013. Tired of seeing my friends working and rehabilitating dogs while I sat at a desk unfulfilled, I decided to follow up on a lead about working for Bark Busters from a woman whose dog I was helping to train.
