My mini doxies had issues with incessant barking...whether from hearing a noise to seeing anyone when I'd take them for a walk. Since moving into a condo, the barking I had gotten used to became an issue as I now live in a vertical neighborhood. Monkey took the role of pack leader and would aggressively (for a mini Dixie... lol) try to jump at anyone walking by. In addition, on three occasions since moving into the city Monkey nipped at people. Anne George arrived for our first session. Literally within minutes her "bah" and my girl Monkey stopped whining. After learning why Monkey was behaving the way she was -- because the pack leader protects the pack... once I learned my soft "bah" when people approached, a growl that let the girls know I am the pack leader and they were safe... the aggressive behavior stopped almost immediately. That plus some other simple tricks that communicate who the pack leader is... and now my neighbors have stopped complaining, I can take the girls on nice walks in my urban neighborhood, and can even sit at an outdoor cafe for an hour while they quietly sit with me. Barkbusters.com and Anne George rock! I now have two wonderfully trained pups! Permalink

Our first session was amazing. After the teaching of a few leader traits our dogs began responding almost instantly to us. Permalink
Bark Busters dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Separation anxiety

We were all out of options when my husband came across the name 'Bark Busters'. Our one year old Jack Russell mix had begun showing (what we thought were) food aggression signs when he was about four months old. We already were in puppy training classes and then begun intermediate classes for him. While he could be trained pretty well when a treat was involved, we could not get a grip on his food aggression. We started out with him as a five week old puppy and always had our hand in his bowl, we even would touch his mouth while he was eating and he never minded it. As the time went on and after the training classes our dog began to be unpredictable. He could be so loving one minute and you could rub him everywhere and the next thing you know he just turns on you with no warning and growls and shows teeth and then bites (sometimes pretty hard). Two trainers later and now he is a year old, he finally did the unthinkable, he charged both my me and my husband in the same night. My bite was not so bad, more like a scratch with a big bruise. My husband however was not so lucky. He should have had stitches but he was so shaken up by the whole event that he just couldn't bring himself to leave the house. The next day we called our current trainer and also our vet and explained the situation and both agreed that maybe our dog has a screw loose or some kind of mental problem. It was suggested to us to go to the ASPCA and have them do a series of tests on him to see if he could go into a new home. One of the tests would be to have him eat at his bowl and then put a fake arm near him as if to come near his food bowl. I must say, he would have failed test. He really would not have done well if you got near him while he was eating. If he failed the tests they gave him they would have to put him down because he would not be suitable to live with people. My husband scoured the Internet one last time to see if there was anyone out there that could help us save our beautiful puppy. He came across the Bark Busters site and gave them a call. He first spoke with a person in general just to share our story and then he was put in touch with Anne George. Anne heard our cries for help and then offered to come give us a FREE assessment of our dog. We took it not thinking too much that she could really save our dog but that she may just be able to give him a new home with someone who could deal with his temperament. She came to our house the next day and she immediately noticed that he was 'in fear'. He responded to her with no problem. He was never told to do something in dog language. It was already a move in the right direction. My highlight of the first visit was when she gave our dog a small bully stick. I told her it was not a good idea, that he would not be ok with others around and that we would have to leave the room or he would growl, show teeth and then attack us. She told me that she needed to see how he would respond, good, bad or ugly. She gave him the bully stick he went to a corner and then she asked him to leave it. HE DID. I was in tears and then at that moment I knew we did not have to put our dog down. We made our real appointment with Anne to get the whole training session and we are so glad that we did. Our dog Hunter is so much better. He needed to gain trust back in us and us in him. It is long journey that our family is happy to be on. I recommend this program to anyone with any kind of dog problems. Just stay vigilant with the training and you will be impressed with how your dog will learn to see you as a leader instead of as a lower dog that he has to put in it's place. Permalink

OMG! Thank goodness for Anne! I have a two year old pekingese that WAS out of control. Barking at the door, biting people when they entered the house, attacking the television, wouldn't walk on a lead, I could go on and on and on! (My husband thought this was ok because he was under the impression that you could not train small dogs, boy was he wrong!)Prior to Anne we hired two different trainers to help with this little guy. We started when he was six months old. The first trainer did the basics, sit, stay, come all done with treats. The second trainer thought that he should remain on a lead while in the house and learn how to use his nose. (bizarre). I was talking about my pekingese to a friend regarding his behaviors that I didn't understand. She told me about Anne George and the strategies she used to help with her dog. My first thought was my husband is going to think I'm nuts.(Another trainer) He did. But I am determined to have people know this precious little guy. (Roscoe) After 6 weeks,Roscoe still barks a little, but doesn't run to the door.(Tools that Anne gave us work)We have had several people in and no one was bitten!!(YEA) Roscoe no longer attacks the TV, when Roscoe is put in a stay position it allows us to enter the house first and then the dogs. I can't explain how wonderful I feel about the training and understanding our role as pet owners in our home.( We are now the leaders not Roscoe!)We still have more behaviors to work on in the next couple of weeks (walking on the lead, waiting in a stay position until called, etc. Again Anne has given us tools and strategies to help in this transition. I enjoy working with Roscoe and seeing the changes that he has made. I think Anne was/still is an excellent choice for a trainer with great results! She understands psychology of dogs/owner. She calls through out the week to see how we were doing. I can't say enough. I will let everyone know how we make out with walking on the lead! Permalink

Anne George has been working with my dog Zion for about 2 months and we have already seen great improvement. Zion used to be a very anxious dog who thought he had to protect us from everyone and everything. He is also a very hyper and energetic dog. Every since we started working with Anne we learned to talk to Zion in "dog" language. Zion responded to the training in the first visit and has been improving ever since. He is less anxious and now allows us to be in control of different situations. He is learning that we are the leaders of the pack and he needs to follow us. I would recommend Bark Busters and Anne George to anyone that wants to understand how their dog thinks and train their dog by using different techniques that their dog understands and will obey. Anne has been working with my family for over a year with our dog that is very skiddish. "Max" would cower at the sign of a human and hide. Since working with Anne, Max now checks out visitors and new people and sometimes even lets them pet him. We just got a 9 weeks old puppy, "Emma", and Max showed signs of aggression towards her. I was sure I had made a mistake and one of the dogs would have to go. Anne came to the house and helped me introduce the 2 dogs. What a SUCCESS! Thanks to her help they are now playing together regularly. I don't know what our family would do without Anne. She made a chaotic house a happy and harmonious home. She's amazing! I would highly recommend her to anyone with a pet. Permalink

Anne George and Bark Busters completely saved our relationship with our dog. Our two and a half year old male pitbull had become frightened of nearly everything in his environment, distrusting of us and almost impossible to walk or introduce to new people. In just a few short visits Anne gave us the tools to rebuild our relationship with our dog and to lead him effectively and safely. Today he is a happy, healthy and easy going member of our household. We've seen amazing improvements in his over all temperament, our control of him when on walks or playing off leash and his response to commands, especially 'come'. Thanks Bark Busters! Permalink

Prior to meeting with Anne George of Baltimore Bark Busters, our dog was gentle, yet very timid. For several months before working with Anne, our dog had been very reluctant to go on walks with me without my husband joining us. After working on the techniques taught by Anne, my husband and I were able to understand the passive dominance traits of our dog. Consistently following the Bark Busters training techniques, we immediately began to see positive results. In the first day, I was able to confidently handle my dog without my husband joining us on a walk. It has been several months since we first met with Anne and my husband and I couldn't be happier with the results of our Bark Busters education. Not to mention, our dog is more confident and happy in our family pack. I would strongly recommend working with Anne George because she cares that you and your dog have a healthy and happy relationship! Permalink

We are extremely pleased with the effectiveness and immediate results from our training. We would recommend Bark Busters to anyone who wants their dog to behave better, but who may think that there's nothing that can be done. That kind of thinking is completely wrong, since it's almost too easy when you understand and apply the simple principles. Our pit bull was very energetic and always needed a walk to calm down. When he did walk he was sometimes overpowering, especially for my pregnant wife. He also was clingy and anxious. He whined all day long. He always needed to be on the furniture and bed to be comfortable. He had stopped eating in his food and instead would eat a lot of grass which made him sick. The new way of communicating with our dog was easily learned. We were well on our way in just one day. The results were dramatic and immediate as seen by us and everyone else. In the first day we had almost all the results we wanted. Also, we learned how to provide better nutrition for the health and happiness of our dog. Our dog has gotten better overall direction from us. He has, therefore, become less anxious and so much better behaved. He was always a smart dog inside, but his intelligence needed to be directed in the right way. We also feel secure that our lifetime plan makes available training or problem solving if needed in the future. We feel that's especially important when our baby comes in a few months. Thanks a lot for taking the time to understand and give us the solution needed for our dog. We feel and know that our dog/owner relationship will be strengthened and enriched forever. Permalink

Despite all our efforts, our dog Buster lacked any obedience and was making our daily lives extremely stressful. Buster jumped, nipped, barked and whined constantly and didn't know how to listen to us. After giving Anne a call and trying the Bark Busters method we have seen an amazing turnaround. Anne taught us how to demonstrate leadership, and Buster has responded by being more relaxed, obedient and happy. Our lives, and Buster's life are much improved. We highly recommend Anne! Permalink
