What can be said about this amazing company?! Bark Busters Home Dog Training of Central Maryland has been a blessing to our family. When we adopted our sweet pup at 6 months from The Washington County Humane Society, we had very little background information for him. We soon realized that Auggie was going to need some professional training for excessive jumping, aggressive play biting and extreme pulling while on walks. After doing some research, I came upon Bark Busters and Chris Pellatiro, our trainer, came to our rescue! Chris thoroughly explained the company’s main objective was to implement “proactive training exercises.” He very patiently demonstrated using expressive body language, clear voice tones, and helping our dog to refocus at the appropriate moment. He also reminded us that training Auggie had to be a part of our daily routine. We have been so pleased to see positive changes in Auggie’s behavior. Highly recommend training with Chris! He is very knowledgeable and was extremely patient with me and my adolescent dog, Frankie. I have learned so much in this training process and we've made a lot of progress. No more pulling when walking or barking when someone comes to the door. Chris at Bark Busters is a gifted trainer. Our dog, Lotus, was aggressive and out of control!!! We walked her on a secluded path in the woods just to avoid contact with other people and their dogs. Now, Lotus is walking the neighborhood with other dogs around. The training philosophy is logical and easy to implement. Lotus is more relaxed and calm and so are we!!! Also, this program is "life time". If we need a little refresher or another issue comes up, we can call Chris and get help with no additional fee. Worth every penny and more. Chris worked with us and our 3-year-old Golden Retriever Axel this past spring. We got Axel through a rescue on December 1, 2019. The only history we got was that he was approximately 10 months old and had come into a shelter in Texas as a stray. He had been in the care of several fosters since arriving in Maryland. Our main concerns were Axel’s separation anxiety and his jumping on people. He also had a tendency to pull on the leash during walks and sometimes bark at other dogs unprovoked. Chris taught us no-nonsense, common sense techniques for dealing with the undesirable behaviors. By the end of our first session, Axel was already responding and changing his conduct! He even seems to find comfort in the expectations and boundaries, making him calmer overall. We are very pleased and grateful for the knowledge and expertise Chris shared with us, and highly recommend Bark Busters. Chris was absolutely amazing!! I am beyond happy. My 3 year old Boxer, Drax, was completely out of control and I was at my wits end! Jumping on guests, barking, anxiety, and pulling me around on walks. Within two hours of Chris being here Drax's behavior completely changed. I was honestly speechless. Jumping and pulling on the leash were actually resolved in that first visit. My friends, yes I can have friends over again, couldn't believe the difference! I am in awe! Today was only my dogs first day training with Dave and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store! My dog Zoe could never be around dogs in my house and on the FIRST day I was able to have her off leash with another dog in the house without trying to go after him! My German Shepherd, Storm, was a rescue at 10 months old and She had some training and housebreaking prior to our adopting her. However, she was never leash-trained and we have suffered through a year of her pulling and tugging her leash, making walking with her a very hazardous and cumbersome chore. Dave Simon spent hours with us and Storm, but the actual training took very few minutes and Storm took to David and the training instantly! Now she walks at my left side at all times and there is no more pulling! What David did for me and my dog was nothing short of miraculous. Our walks are enjoyable now! Additionally I have noticed a distinct change in Storm's overall behavior, it is far more submissive than previous and also seems more contented. I honestly believe that David showed us both how to communicate better and we are both very happy because of his time and training. Thank you so very much! Permalink
