Photo of Gatsby & Max Our family has rescued two labs over the course of 4 years. We ran into some behavioral problems when it comes to marking, leash pulling etc. We were struggling trying to address the problems and even considered giving the dogs away for adoption due to our busy schedules and severity of the problems. I finally decided to search the internet for help and that's where I came across Bark Busters. Jef has been excellent, he is respectful and experienced. We immediately noticed the results after his first visit to our home. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend their services.

Like many I adopted a COVID-19 baby. I am a firm believer in professional training. Due to the pandemic it was hard to find in person training. I opted for an online program which helped with some basics. But not overall obedience. I contacted Barkbusters to help progress Wally, now 18 months old to the next step. His separation anxiety and ease of excitement is off putting to some in my family and with the holidays approaching I needed a solution. Jef was incredibly responsive. He offered two different packages. I selected the Gold as it promotes long term success. It is also important to note I chose Barkbusters because of the method. No shock or choke collars. No treats. My first experience with dog training many years ago centered on using a choke collar to get the dog to comply. I found it to be mean and so did my dog. I have also used the sleep away camp training and although effective, it took longer for my dog to respond to me. Barkbusters teaches verbal cues and the use of body language. You have to rewire your own brain because you may have to move your vocal range from low to high quickly. But it works! After just one session I am amazed at the results. Daily behaviors I had a hard time controlling are in control. Wally responds immediately to my cue. Another note Jef trained me not Wally. You have to be willing to put in the work and then consistently reinforce the training. We are done yet. But I look forward to our next session! *Highly recommend **

We are so happy that we found Jef to help us when we were concerned that our dog was showing aggressive behaviors (growling and being territorial). When we noticed the behaviors getting worse, we called Jef and upon his first visit he immediately put us at ease that it was correctable. Jef is extremely professional, and we have learned so much from his visits. Our dog's behavior is improving, and we can breathe a little easier knowing he will only get better. If you have any concerns, don't give up on your dog, please call Jef!!

Jef Evans has become a welcome member of our Basset hound’s extended family! Among other things, Jef has taught Watson how to behave appropriately with guests—and not annoyingly demand “center stage!” We are so grateful to have this knowledgeable, patient man on our team! Linda Sullivan

Photo of Trix Extremely happy with the service. Jeff and Cathy took a long time getting to know our dog and our specific needs as well as the dogs needs. They worked with us to teach us rather than make us just replicate what they did. We are 100% satisfied with the help that we, and our dog received.

Jeff and Cathy are excellent trainers. The method is really working with our dog Higgins. Mia is 13 years old and already well trained. Higgins is eleven months and all puppy. High energy is putting it mildly but Jeff and Cathy are doing a great job channeling this energy. This "stuff" really works. THANKS>

Photo of Samson Extremely informative. Both Jeff & Cathy come across as very knowledgeable, as well as helpful and compassionate. It is/was easy to see that they know exactly what they are doing in how easily Samson responded. Not all problems have been covered...yet! But I know that they will be; that was our fault. We should have been more prepared for the first session with a list of some sort and we were not. Our second session is already scheduled and by then we have a better sense of what we need to express to Jeff & Cathy regarding our and Samson's needs to lead a better health together. I will say that things are already better/different as I sit here at the computer also eating dinner of which Samson is very aware but he is not bothering me at all. As recently as this morning he would have been attempting to eat with me.
