Photo of Dilly Absolutely could not be happier! Dilly was extremely dog aggressive. We had tried so many ways to correct this - dog trainers, snacks, muzzles - nothing worked. When we moved to an apartment earlier this year, the situation became desperate. Then Omar and Bark Busters came into our lives!
Literally in TWO sessions, Dilly is a new dog - I like being with him again and enjoy going for walks. The training was simple and made sense. Omar did a great job explaining the why's of DIlly's behavior. Omar spent the time necessary to make sure I knew the lessons and how to properly communicate with Dilly so we could effectively work together. The difference is astonishing and I feel confident in walking him around our apartment complex (we have had two encounters and both times Dilly settled quickly and then ignored the other dogs). It is unbelievable and I am still in shock, but it is true.
Dilly's and our other dog's aggressive barking when a dog walks by in the hallway or outside, has also abated and it is wonderful! It is the best money I have spent on my dogs and has renewed and saved our relationship!

John is an exceptional dog trainer. He really knows what he’s doing. I have had only one training session so far, it’s day two and I’ve continued doing my at home training and have already seen a HUGE improvement with my dog. John doesn’t just teach you what to do, he teaches the background and fundamentals of WHY you need to do what you need to do and like with most dog training, the main issue was with how I was interacting with my dog more so than how my dog is behaving. I can’t wait to finish the program to see how well behaved Gunner is at the end of all of this!

Thank you Ricky. We've had to seek help from the very top, getting advice from Sylvia Wilson, the Lady herself, who with her husband Danny started Bark Busters in Australia, back in 1989. I should also mention Michael Konstantaras, a guy who is not only one of BB's top trainers in the USA but also took time to help me as I was learning. I say all this just to point out that if your dog has an issue, as Gunner did, we'll search the planet for the correct, gentle solution for your dogs needs.

We were looking for a trainer for our good boy Schnitzel and found Michelle McCarthy with Bark Busters. Michelle has been such a life changer for us even after just a couple of sessions. We have been so impressed with the training and only wish we had found her sooner. Schnitzel is now much calmer and less stressed, no longer barks out the window all day, and is a true gem while out on walks. I highly recommend Michelle! The training has been so worth it for us.

We adopted one puppy intentionally and then fell into a stray puppy a few months later. We were in over our head and were beyond frustrated that our dogs wouldn't listen, chewed everything, barked at neighbors, dug holes, you name it, one or both dogs did it. One was so aggressive when meeting new dogs I thought we would never be able to take them anywhere or have dog friends over. This sounds dramatic, but James from Bark Busters was a life changer. I knew we were the problem, not so much the dogs, but he showed us how to communicate with them in a manner they understand and everything is different now. They are delightful. Perfect? No. But they listen better, we can leave them unsupervised for longer, and their whole demeanor is so much calmer. They are changed dogs because we are better at communicating with them.

Photo of Molly We have loved our Bark Busters experience, and can’t recommend this team highly enough! We called because two of our dogs were fighting, but their teaching and tips have completely improved the lives of all of our dogs. We have seen such an improvement in behavior that we only regret not calling sooner.

Photo of Skansen's Otto II Our Standard Schnauzer puppy was getting out of control. Biting, nipping, barking, jumping everywhere in the house. While walking, he used to pull the leash very strongly and get overly excited when spotting other people or dogs.

We've done some research an decided to call Bark Busters.

Mason Erwin came to our home and spent 4 hours with the whole family. He basically trained us and showed us how to handle Otto. After explaining us the behavioral challenges and peculiarities all dogs have, he showed us the corrections we needed to do inside the house. Also, we went for a walk in the nearby the park and trails where we usually walk Otto.

Otto was also experiencing separation anxiety. Very disruptive, because we couldn't leave him alone and couldn't have even 6 straight hours of sleep.

In sum, we were vey discouraged and frustrated because we couldn't help out our beloved Otto.

After the first session with Mason, Otto's behavior changed significantly. No more pulling, no more biting, no more nipping. Walking with him was very pleasant. Separation anxiety was substantially lower. He now stays in his crate at night without barking or whining.

We called Mason once more to address a couple of remaining issues; e.g. barking aggressively at other dogs while walking.
Once again, Mason's guidance was very effective and Otto stopped the undesirable behavior almost immediately.

We are grateful and impressed with Mason's skills and training.

It has been a game changer.

Michael was great with walking us through all the steps to help us gain control of our house again while making our dog feel safe. His directions and step-by-step process were easy to follow and I love how the process is about establishing a sense of mutual trust with our dog. Our dog is very reactive with lots of barking whenever guests come into our house but with consistency, our dog is responding to our commands and settling down in a space that is safe for her.

We recommend working with Bark Busters if you feel like you’ve run out of options on how to train your dog. There are no gimmicks here, just consistency and communication!

Wow! I wanted to wait a few days before leaving a review to see how things were going. I have to say that I am amazed. With a few relatively simple tools (that I am still learning how to use) so much has changed for the better in a very short time with the relationship between me and my dogs. Mostly I wanted them to stop barking and overreacting when they see other dogs on our walks, and their behavior has improved so much I can hardly believe it. They are generally more comfortable and settled and happier. I am able to correct their behavior when I can see them starting to tense up. Meanwhile, other issues that I probably should have been concerned about, but wasn't tuned into, are also improving. I have worked with other trainers and but not felt like their cues were easy to implement in the real world. I am so grateful to Laura. She clearly has the dogs' best interests at heart and was tactful with me about what I needed to do to change the dynamic with my dear dogs. I feel like we are really on the right path, now, and that means that we can do more things together and have more fun and less stress. Thank you Laura and BarkBusters! I just wish I had found you 18 months ago.
