I adopted my mixed breed dog after he bit the former owner’s neighbor and had to be removed from the home. Knowing that the bite might not have been a “fluke” or “one time issue,” I contacted Bark Busters of So CT for help. After just one 2-hr evaluation/training session, my husband and I saw the notable difference in Blackie’s behavior with strangers. Mike taught us how to parent Blackie in order to prevent aggression before it starts. The training techniques are simple and effective. After the 2nd session we learned how to reduce Blackie’s separation anxiety. Blackie still has some room for improvement, but the improvement is remarkable. Thank you for your help, Mike - you relieved a lot of my stress.

Omar and Ryanne saved our dogs! This may sound like hyperbole, but let me explain.

It was summer of 2024 and we thought our two female dogs were healthy and happy, they'd play with each other, we'd walk them daily. The older dog is a mostly Siberian Husky mix we rescued in 2018, now about 8 years old. The newer dog is +3 year old full Australian Shepherd we've had since she was eight weeks old. The Aussie completed two obedience classes very well. Yet last spring-into-summer, the two dogs began fighting each other, much more than simple play, and this reached a crescendo in late summer. We tried to figure out the reason for the fights, thinking it was our interactive play with the dogs in the yard. Two separate fights resulted in injuries to each dog requiring veterinary care, and we despaired that we might have to re-home one of our beloved dogs.

It was a stressful time and we decided to find a solution to keep both dogs, and after the 'last' fight, my wife began searching for solutions. After reviewing trainer options for our area, she was impressed by the services and reviews presented on the Bark Busters website. Still distraught and crying over the fight that morning, my wife called the number and was immediately calmed by the Bark Busters national representative, who discussed their processes, services and assurance that their techniques would help our situation, stressing they worked on behavioral aspects, not obedience. My wife was told that local trainer Omar would be contacting her, and he called the same day!

Omar scheduled an in-home visit within five days to provide a no-obligation evaluation. We were impressed with his presentation, his pragmatism, and empathy while we had a thorough discussion about our dogs, history and desires. We decided the next day to enlist Omar and Ryanne's training, and scheduled an initial in-home training session. Omar's strategy was to begin with one dog at a time, mostly for training us as dog owners/lovers. The concepts and techniques were easy to understand with demonstrations, and both Omar and Ryanne thoughtfully guided us to learn and practice the techniques. Over the next few weeks we met in-home to continue the training that produced instantaneous results, and anytime we had any questions or concerns about continuing the training between sessions we'd receive immediate response to our texts. Plus we can reach out with any issues for the lifetime of our dogs!

The best takeaway is that Omar and Ryanne instilled a mindset we follow for peace and love with our dogs. Here we are months later and our happy dogs are playing together joyfully and we've been empowered to understand their behaviors. It's been very easy to befriend Omar and Ryanne with their genuine empathy and the insightful, practical psychology of dog lovers and their dogs. The quality dog leashes they provided are a great useful bonus. We've extolled the virtues of their program to all our dog-loving friends. We wholeheartedly endorse their services to anyone experiencing behavioral issues with their dog(s).

The Dog Trainer Who Changed Our Lives!
