Our dogs are Blackjack (9y Rat Terrier mix) and Frenchy (2 1/2y Pitbull mix). We've had Blackjack since she was a puppy. We adopted Frenchy in June 2024. Blackjack has never liked big dogs on sight. When we took Blackjack to RAL to meet Frenchy, she seemed okay with him. Not so when we were home. Blackjack was very aggressive toward Frenchy. She actually bit his lip and broke the skin. Fortunately, Frenchy didn't react. After our first three hours session with Kyle, Blackjack stopped being aggressive toward Frenchy. While they will probably never play together, they do sleep together. Thank you so much Kyle!

Heather is a true professional. Not only is she personable and knowledgeable in training our pups, you can tell that she loves her job. I highly recommend that you contact her for whatever training needs you may have. Both of our pups' behavior has improved tremendously even after only "two" sessions. Under her guidance, it wont be long before our fur babies will be perfect angels-- well, as perfect as they can be at least :)

We were having aggression, possession, barking, leash manners, table manners, and separation anxiety with our dog, and were losing hope. We got our dog during Covid so he is not well socialized and has anxiety and attachment issues. We had tried the Bark Busters program before when our dog was younger with another trainer in a different area before we moved to Richmond and unfortunately, it didn't go well. But then, along came Kyle. He turned it around for us.
PermalinkKyle has been an amazing dog trainer and the best one my husband and I have had. He cares and wants to get to know his clients to build a lasting relationship with them which is something that I personally appreciate. Kyle told us that he wanted to be a part of our dog Wade's success story which was really nice to hear. Our dog is going to turn 5 in December. We have been seeing Kyle once a month for about two months now and we have seen much improvement in our dog. Kyle is very knowledgeable in his work and you can tell that he has a passion for and loves what he does! He always has a positive and can-do attitude and is more than willing to go above and beyond at training. Our dog Wade has already gotten so much better with table manners, door possession, and his separation anxiety. We have even gotten two compliments from the apartment complex we live in saying that our dog has been much better with his barking and separation anxiety which is a HUGE WIN for us!!
I could write so much more, but needless to say, if you are looking for a great dog trainer who knows what he's talking about and is passionate about helping people understand how to speak "dog" look no further. Kyle is the best and we will continue to use him for the lifetime of our dog.

We've been working with Mike and Cassidy for a few months now and we saw a positive change in our dogs behavior immediately following the first session with them. We unfortunately lost one of our dogs shortly after starting with them and they were amazing working with us. Boomer no longer rushes the front door or guests, he respects designated spaces in the house and has greatly improved with pulling on the leash and his reactivity.

Incoming Rocco update! So it’s been 2 weeks since Rocco’s session and you guys, he is a DIFFERENT DOG! We are in constant disbelief. It’s as if a switch was flipped. He doesn’t do any of the bad behaviors anymore! • He doesn’t bark at random noises when we’re home. • He doesn’t bark and run towards the windows when the neighbors pass by. He literally looks and doesn’t react! • He doesn’t have any aggression whatsoever towards our cleaning lady. I was able to bring him out on leash with the training cushion in hand, but he didn’t do anything! He was green zoning the whole time. • I’m able to bring him along to do errands and he just sits by my feet when I’m paying or waiting for something. Even if men come up next to me, he looks but then relaxes and doesn’t react at all. • yesterday Mauro had a friend over for dinner 🥹 and I wasn’t home when he first came over but Mauro said he was super calm and totally accepted Claudio in the house and let him pet him!! I was worried when I arrived that he would turn and start being aggressive, but he stayed in the green zone alllll night. We kept him on leash but were 👌this close to taking it off because we were THAT confident that he wouldn’t behave badly. • when we take him out to cafes he literally just sits calmly under my seat and looks around (💚 zone), even with other dogs and babies walking right in front of him. We’ve been very diligent on the 👏 and “bah” when he steps a toe into the 💛 zone. I’ve let up on the leash yanking when were out because he started to look scared of me haha. He’s really good on leash. He now waits for me to step in/out of the elevator before walking and doesn’t lunge or even notice people walking by. I don’t know how you guys did it, but you totally fixed Rocco!!! We cannot believe the transformation!! I can see in his eyes he is HAPPIER and at ease. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for what you did 🥹🙏 You guys literally changed all of our lives!!

We started working with Hanna in January for one of our pups (7.5 yrs) who in the month prior started to get aggressive towards our older pup (13 yrs). Luckily it wasn’t to a point where they had to be constantly separated and a couple of days after the first training it was night and day difference in their temperaments! We are seeing a lot of improvements in most of the areas we are focusing on. Some habits are hard to break (like going straight for the couch first thing in the am) but it’s a work in progress. We are so happy we made this investment for our pup and are excited for what the future holds!

We’ve done different types of trainings over the years with our different dogs, but the Bark Busters methods make so much more sense. It’s a very calm and quiet way to train rather than yelling commands. I have learned to understand my dog’s body language, anticipate his behavior, and be proactive instead of reactive. We are being taught to train our dog for behaviors we want him to have in our household, not what someone else thinks he should do. Our trainer, Hanna, has been so resourceful and supportive. In the past I’ve never felt confident in my abilities to train a dog - I often feel reprimanded for not doing things the right way in classes. But Hanna is gentle and kind, and has given me the confidence that I can do this and be successful.

Hanna was wonderful helping us give our Jaxy comfort and confidence when he joined our family. She was so good helping us all work as a team and helped us all. Can't recommend them higher

I am so happy I found Bonnie and Bark Busters. My patience was challenged and I needed expert training for my psychiatric service dog. Bonnie was able to step in and help. She was cheerful, easy, and bonded with my dog instantly. Now, my dog has qualified as a service dog through the help of Bark Busters Boston. THANK YOU Bonnie.
