I was so discouraged that I tried everything I knew & could not help my 5-1/2 month old chihuahua. I got him when he was 4-1/2 months old, & from what the vet & myself could tell, he was never socialized or minimally socialized. Because of this, he was extremely scared of people, barked at everything, would not walk with the leash, & when I held him around people he would constantly shake, growl/bark & try to bite if they got too close. He was a mess & I was heartbroken for him.
PermalinkI decided to hire a trainer that would come to my house & what I found in Joanne was a lifeline. Before she even worked with my puppy, she asked me questions, thoroughly answered mine, & reviewed her training methods & how we’ll move forward. I was also trained during that time…..a must in my experience. Then, I brought my puppy into the room & the training began. I will say it’s imperative that you make changes & to work with your puppy/dog everyday.
Fast forward to two weeks & even before the two weeks, my puppy loves to go walking & he no longer is barking incessantly at people or other animals (a little ruff will escape every so often but when I correct him he immediately stops). He is getting more comfortable around people, & he doesn’t try to bite them when I’m holding him. The shaking is minimal. He is a completely different puppy & a much happier one too!! Our relationship has even blossomed & I have Joanne to thank for that.
This is a long review but I wanted you to know how bad things were & the difference training has made in just two weeks. If you are thinking about a trainer, I HIGHLY recommend Joanne. I am so happy I called her because no way was I able to do this on my own. Not only can I enjoy him, but little by little so can others. Don’t give up on your puppy/dog……hire Joanne!! You’ll be happy you did!!

Bark Busters training was some of the best money I've ever spent. I recently took in my mothers cat after her passing and needed to take my daughters dog (Maddie) as she is soon to have her first baby. We were having numerous problems getting cat and dog to live peacefully together in our home, as well as issues on walks due to her reactivity to cars and people. Maddie lacked confidence and was a very fearful and over-protective dog. Upon Omar's (bark busters) arrival she was extremely agitated and barked and snarled pretty severely. Within less than 20 minutes, Omar had taught US to 'speak dog' and we had Maddie calmly laying at our feet under the kitchen table. AMAZING!! The tension in our household dropped enormously after the training Omar did with us and I finally had hope that we could really make this work. The cat and dog are still learning to live together, but as we practice the techniques we learned the incidents have dropped to very few. As we continue to work with Bark Busters I am highly confident we can have a peaceful home and many good years together. So glad I called them.

Amanda is great. If I could give 10 stars, I would. She showed up at the house this evening and Freide was at the door waiting to jump on Amanda. Freide would not let me put the harness on her to restrain her.
PermalinkAfter restraining Freide, we discussed our goals with Amanda. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. However Amanda had us crate Freide as we discussed what we would be doing moving forward. We then let Freide out and Amanda showed us how to keep Freide from jumping on the sofa, or even going towards the door, or kitchen.
I was totally amazed that in only 20 minutes Amanda had Freide from going on the couch, but towards the door and kitchen. We saw a totally different pup in 20 minutes of working with Amanda. I'm really looking forward to seeing more changes from Freide moving forward.

Great experience! We addressed barking and rushing to the door. Josh was patient and very clear. I would highly recommend.

Luis has given us a variety of dog training techniques that have greatly improved our relationship with Chapo, making our lives together more enjoyable and harmonious.
PermalinkAdditionally, Luis emphasized the importance of consistency in our training efforts. By being consistent with our commands and expectations, Chapo has learned what is expected of him and has become more obedient and responsive. Moreover, Luis taught us the significance of understanding Chapo's body language and using it as a communication tool. By paying attention to his cues and signals, we have been able to better understand his needs and emotions, leading to a stronger bond between us.
Furthermore, Luis shared techniques for managing Chapo's behavior, such as redirecting his attention and providing mental stimulation through games and interactive toys. These techniques have helped to reduce and prevent undesirable behaviors, making our living environment more peaceful and enjoyable for all. Overall, the techniques provided by Luis have greatly enhanced our relationship with Chapo, contributing to a more fulfilling and satisfying life together.

Karen was great, Jasper is a 3 yr old Aussie Cattledog and came to us thru Milo foundation. In recent years he was getting more and more aggressive towards guests coming to the home post pandemic and thats been extremely scary and frustrating. When he saw dogs walking, all he wanted to do was run over and play but he was too strong and was hurting my wifes shoulder. Karen came and taught us to work with Sam to become less reactive and to trust us that people invited into our home were welcome. Not going to hurt us. As far as walking, its become fun again. Karen is patient and straight to the point. She explains why we need to do things differently and always available for help and the BarkBusters methods are easy to incorporate into our lives. Call BarkBusters- it can change your life.

Marcus addressed the aggression and domineering behavior our dogs were displaying and quickly taught how to re-educate our dogs in a non aggressive manner without tricks or gimmicks.

I was astonished how quickly the dogs responded. I'm excited to see the dogs behavior as they continue to learn.

Just with a few simple commands, stares, and behavior changes from us (the humans) we have already noticed significant differences in behavior. I expect this will continue to improve.
