We had tried everything with our three-and-a-half-year-old Morkie. His behavior was horrendous, and it had worsened over time. We had worked with a number of trainers and tried 3 different medications for Chester, but nothing seemed to work. Then, a miracle happened, or at least that’s what we thought. We booked our initial visit with Doug at Bark Busters. I was skeptical, since nothing had worked with our dog yet. After an hour and a half of Doug working with my wife, me, and our dog, the dog exhibited a completely new personality. The barking was gone, and we were able to walk out of the house without having to lock him in a different part of the house. His anxiety levels reached a low that we had not seen since he was a pup. Yesterday was the first day in over a year and a half that we had a quiet and peaceful day and enjoyed our puppy. Needless to say, I went from a skeptic to a believer immediately. I would wholeheartedly recommend Doug and Bark Busters to anyone who’s having issues with their dog. In fact, we mentioned Bark Busters to our vet this afternoon when we were there for Chester’s shots. Doug, thank you for all that you did. We truly appreciate it and look forward to a long relationship.

Our dog has been struggling with anxiety and some complex behaviors that had us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. But Scott came in with a calm, confident presence and immediately made us feel more at ease. He didn’t just work with our dog—he worked with us, teaching us practical tools, tips, and tricks that we could use every day. He explained everything clearly and with so much knowledge that it was easy to follow and apply his advice right away.
PermalinkThanks to Scott, we now feel empowered, educated, and much more prepared to handle situations that used to feel impossible. It’s clear he genuinely cares about both the dogs and the families he helps. The time, effort, and expertise he shared with us have made a huge difference already, and we’re so grateful for everything he’s done.

I've worked with dog trainers before and have never seen such quick progress with my dog Phoebe. Before joining Bark Busters, Phoebe would bark at every chance, cry when left alone, and raise hell on the leash. But after working with Amanda for just a few sessions, she's practically done a 180! It's also reassuring to know that we have long-term support and training if we need. If you're considering Bark Busters, let this be your sign to take the plunge!

We cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for James and Bark Busters! We’ve had our sweet rescue, Quavo, for over a year. When we first adopted him, he was fearful and anxious — traits that followed him from the shelter. His separation anxiety was severe, so we initially tried another training company that used e-collars, but unfortunately, his anxiety only got worse. I do not recommend. During that time, a new behavior started: he began snapping at people. Although he never bit anyone, the snapping was scary for our friends and family and was seriously impacting our lives. It was heartbreaking to see Quavo so anxious and unsettled around people, especially because he’s such a sweet boy once he trusts you. After just two sessions with James, EVERYTHING changed. When my family came to visit, they were able to pet and snuggle Quavo without any issues — no snapping AT ALL. It felt like we were one big happy family— something we always dreamed of. I always believed in Quavo, but I honestly didn’t expect to see such fast results. This has truly been life-changing for all of us! (Included a photo of Quavo snuggling with my mom because I still can’t believe it!) Quavo also used to struggle with leash walking, fixating on other dogs and making walks stressful. Thanks to James, walks are now enjoyable, and Quavo has improved so much. We are beyond grateful for James. His training style is incredible — he trains YOU on how to train your dog & how to properly communicate with them. He explains everything clearly and uses gentle, kind methods. He’s honest & you can tell he truly loves dogs and understands each family’s unique situation. I couldn’t recommend James or Bark Busters more. We’re so thankful to have ongoing support for Quavo throughout his life. They have truly been life savers! I’m so grateful that Quavo is able to relax and that people can now see the sweet loving boy he truly is!❤️

Bark Busters has completely changed the way I view dog training. I’ve had the chance to observe their methods in action, and the results truly speak for themselves. What sets them apart is their focus on behavior-based training rather than relying solely on treats, clickers, or obedience drills. You start seeing improvements in your dog’s behavior almost immediately.
PermalinkThe techniques are straightforward and easy for owners to learn and apply, which makes the entire process feel empowering—not overwhelming. It’s amazing to watch dogs become more confident and focused as they find purpose through this kind of mental engagement. They’re not just learning commands—they’re learning how to think and respond. I’d recommend Bark Busters to anyone looking for lasting, meaningful change with their dog!

Kayla is awesome! I recently adopted an Iggy (Piper) who is 3-1/2 months young. She’s extremely energetic, not potty trained and bites everything and everyone due to teething but couldn’t be any cuter. I met with Kayla for several hours. She provided great information, suggestions, is patient and extremely diligent in checking in with me to see how things are going. I’m a work in progress (hard giving tough love by not running to get her every time she whines, but I’m getting better:). Additionally, Piper is getting better with going potty outdoors and when she tries biting, by redirecting her, she refocuses and stops biting.). I highly recommend Kayla for your training needs.

I really enjoyed meeting jeri today, she was very informative to me. I even seen a difference in my Murphy, with focus breakers, he seems to understand. he's walking better with me with the leash. I had him out twice already since you left. I'm going to do my best to keep it up. And hopefully I will have a happy and loving little puppy to keep a lonely old lady company. Thank you again.

Our session with Sharon was amazing! The change in our puppy’s behavior feels miraculous but the secret was training me, not the dog. :) I highly recommend Sharon. She was patient and thoughtful. She was easy to work with and full of insight. I love seeing someone love their job, and you can tell she does. Thank you! Our home is much more peaceful and quiet now that our puppy doesn’t think she has to protect us from every single shadow or noise.
