Our rescue dog was nipping and aggressive toward my husband. Our first visit with Heather gave us tools to practice that will lead us back to a warm, safe home. We are committed to practicing these tools so our dog no longer fears us, but knows we are his pack!

Connie was absolutely amazing in training us to work with our new dog, Rex! The office was incredibly prompt and helpful as well! We adopted Rex, a three year old husky mix tripod in April and engaged the services of Connie and Bark Busters about two weeks into welcoming Rex home.
PermalinkRex latched onto me immediately as his person and followed me around EVERYWHERE. While I loved the company, it was overwhelming and I could see that he was having anxiety when I even just leave him for a few minutes to go to the restroom. Enter, Connie!
At our first visit, she gathered a lot of info about Rex and our experiences. She focused on the behaviors that we didn’t like and that were harmful or dangerous for Rex and others. He was a bit reactive to new people, especially men, and did appear to have great socialization with people and animals. He’s gotten so much better in just a few months and we saw change after the first visit. Connie was patient, honest, and funny. I think this review could be pages long, so I’ll summarize the benefits here:
- easy to schedule and good availability. Flexible with appointment days and times.
- immediate results after first appointment
- consistent improvement over time with the homework given at each session
- great follow-up notes from each session with resource and homework
- easy communication with Connie via text with updates, questions, suggestions
- love that Connie comes to our house to see Rex in his normal environment with hands on training practice each visit and reasonable homework to follow between visits.
- Connie focuses on our needs and desires and the safety of Rex and those around him. She’s not going to tell you that letting him on the furniture or sleep in bed with you is bad if you are okay with that. She’s also realistic with what we can and can’t do to get the changes we want.
- great resources provided like videos, handouts, articles, advice, etc.
- Connie is SUPER responsive when I text with a question or update.
- love that this is a lifetime service for Rex so if something changes we can reach out for help at any time.
If you are willing to put in some effort (which was actually less daunting than I thought it would be), you will see results to help you and your dog be happier and safer. Can’t recommend enough!

Heather was amazing! We have a rescue and he was attacking dad and me (family friend). He was close to having to be returned because of the fear of him attacking the kids. After just one visit he was coming up to the dad and receiving praise from him. It was amazing to watch. He will be a great addition to the family. Thanks Heather!!! 😊

Having moved from a house with a yard in the country to an apartment in the city, my sweet dog Riley was uncomfortable. She was constantly barking at every sound and pulling me around on her leash. It was a hard time for both of us. Enter Justin and his magic dog training! My sweet girl is now calm and quiet in the apartment and walks easily besides me every time we go out. I’m so grateful for the help in improving my dog’s life. And I’m still shocked at how few times we had to meet! Totally worth the money! If you want to change you and your dog’s life for the better - this is it!

Thank goodness for Randy, or Burke may have ended up back at the shelter. I live in an apartment, and the neighbors were complaining about the incessant barking. Burke's separation anxiety and anxiety in general was off the charts. Thanks to Randy's methods, Burke is much calmer and can stay at home happily by himself. I really liked that it didn't involve prong collars or anything harsh. 10/10!

Ryan gave us results with both of our dogs the very first day!! We were struggling with new people entering our home and not getting barked at or bombarded with jumping and aggression! He gave us skills that worked right out the gate! We also have been able to take them on walks without fear of barking at other dogs or the constant pulling!! The skills we have learned are invaluable and has made all of us much happier humans and pups!!

(Lengthy but TRUE!) Chris is amazing! I adopted my 5-year-old Pitbull in November 2024. He came with a troubled past—and the scars on his face told part of the story. Despite that, I could see he was a sweet dog who just needed some extra care and structure. I reached out to Bark Busters when I was at a breaking point. My dog had already attacked my boyfriend twice, and I was seriously considering returning him to the shelter. That’s when Chris stepped in and truly changed everything. The in-home training with Chris gave us the tools and techniques we needed to succeed—not just inside our home, but out in the real world too. With consistency and dedication, my dog has come such a long way. He now listens well, respects boundaries, and sees me as his leader. I really appreciate that Chris’s methods don’t rely on e-collars or any harsh tools. It’s all about communication and leadership, which has made a huge difference. Chris has also been incredibly supportive outside of our sessions—always just a text or call away when I need guidance. Thank you, Chris, for helping us turn things around. I truly couldn’t have done this without you!

Jeri helped us understand the difference between bribing our dogs with treats and teaching them to do what we ask them to do. The time she spent with us--and then with our dogs--was informative and eye-opening. We believe that we learned a lot, and that we will be much better dog parents. We had become very frustrated trying to figure out how to teach Wily to focus on us instead of other prople and dogs when we're walking. Jeri gave us strategies and practices to help us help both our dogs. It was a great day!
