Photo of Gus My wife and I grew up with dogs and for the most part, simple training (house breaking, general responsiveness) worked just fine. However, we quickly realized that was not going to be the case when we adopted our good boy, Gus, from ARF when he was 1 year and 3 months. Gus is a Pitbull/Mastiff/Terrier and is much more active and athletic than any other we have had.

Gus has high prey drive, extremely curious, stubborn and independent, highly active and a bit destructive, and took some time to learn his new name (previously Catamaran and prior to that a number)

Given all this, we felt it necessary to call in help and it could not have been a better decision - Dan and the BarkBuster principals are a game changer.

There is no magic bullet and Dan made that very clear - it is on every Dog Parent to DO THE WORK!

However, with the the tools, knowledge and routines Dan has given us, Gus is able to have more freedom to explore and we are more confident in introducing him to new experiences, places, people and other dogs.

He went from absolutely ignoring me any time we went outside to a (developing) off leash dog who is hiking right at my side and extremely attentive to the core commands (Wait, No, Come and Heel). He went from not knowing how to play with other dogs and respect boundaries, to being best friends with a Dachshund and part of a pack.

When we first told people how much we were paying for training they thought we were crazy. However, these are now the same people commenting on what a good boy Gus is and how calm and attentive he is.

Some dogs can afford to be untrained (we have had them our whole lives). Gus was not one of them. And we felt we owed it to Gus and ourselves to call in help and we are so grateful we did.

Thank you, Dan, for giving us the confidence, tools and knowledge to live our best life.

If it were not For Luis I don't know what I would have done. After 2 and a half years of trying EVERYTHING (including other trainers), Luis managed to fix all of my problems within a couple of hours. Kaipo (pitbull mix) used to rush through doorways, bark and cry for everything, pull so hard for every walk I would get injured, and have anxiety aggression towards other dogs. Going on walks with Kaipo became so anxiety inducing and physically painful that it became intolerable and I eventually had to stop walking him altogether. He would bark, scream and pull whenever he would see another dog, and Luis was able to fix it all. I know it is hard trusting reviews, especially since I know a lot of companies make fake ones or whatever, but I am saying this wholeheartedly that Kai's behavior would be so bad that I would cry to myself at times, and now he's a completely different dog. Thank you so so so much! Please, if you have any inclination that your life might be better with training, do it. You don't know how much you'll appreciate it. Kai is now a dog that I can leave the house with, without fear. He's finally behaving like the good boy I've always known him to be.

I barely have words to describe how amazing Patrick was. The strategies were both intuitive and effective in ways I wasn’t expecting. In just days the overwhelming majority of my fear was gone. My dog(Gunner) is a rescue and a really strong pitbull mix. As a disabled person, walking a dog that leash tugs is very worrying. Patrick had it fixed in minutes and gave me the strategies to work on it going forward. I’ve taken Gunner on walks over a mile long, and run into multiple triggers without any incident since our visit. And it’s only been a week. The security in seeing the changes within my dog an his actions has been so uplifting in knowing that this will work for the long term. Just seeing his anxiety drop as it’s easier for me to communicate with him has been great to see. I was worried how effective it would be, both for me and for Gunner. Understanding that the real goal is communicating on his level was the answer to getting my message through was a game changer. I really can’t say enough good about Patrick and Bark Busters.

We needed help training our puppy who has a mind of his own. Michael came and immediately began training the whole family. Our dog responded the first time meeting him. He is teaching us how to set expectations with our dog and has been very patient with us. We quickly learned how to establish boundaries while enjoying our dog. We are very thankful to Michael.

I had the privilege of working with Amanda, and I cannot recommend her enough. She has an exceptional understanding of dog behavior and an innate ability to connect with animals. From the very first session, I witnessed remarkable improvements in my German Shepherd's behavior.

What truly sets Amanda apart is not just her expertise but also her warm and caring nature. She genuinely cares about the well-being of both the dogs and their owners. She went above and beyond to ensure that we felt supported and equipped to continue Simon's training beyond the sessions.

I am immensely grateful to Amanda for her guidance and expertise. Thanks to her, Simon's behavior has transformed for the better, and our relationship with him has deepened. If you're looking for a skilled professional who is also a kind-hearted individual, Amanda is the perfect choice.

Kyle has been amazing with training our puppy (or actually training us) to understand and interact with Buie so that we understand each other. We are much slower learners than our dog but the changes have been significant. Puppy nipping has reduced considerably and his walking on leash, waiting, and behavior with others is great for a 5 month old. Kyle’s suggestions and demonstrations have made a difference. He has also adapted some training tips so that we are more able to implement them. His willingness to answer calls and emails has helped in between visits. Having him come to our home and work with us in our environment was a great decision and well worth the investment.

Photo of Elsa Jordan Claudon is the perfect match for my Elsa. He is very calm and patient with her and makes training look easy. I wish only that I could have started with his services much earlier. Both Elsa and myself have improved so much within a short period of time. So grateful for his experience and ability to work with our super dogs, especially my Elsa.

Photo of Ruby We were so frustrated with our pup’s barking and pulling and kept taking training courses that didn’t seem to help at all! Mariah gave us the tools we’ve been searching for and we saw incredible improvement in the very first training session!! It has made a world of difference being able to communicate with our dog on her level and address the underlying causes of her barking and pulling. Truly this training was worth every penny. Having a lifetime guarantee is such a huge relief and source of support as we work to help our dog be happier, calmer, and more comfortable, resulting in less barking and pulling. We would highly recommend Mariah and BarkBusters for all your training needs and for guidance that allows you to work with your dog to make your relationship stronger and communication better!

I don't know what I would have done without Paula Hinz's help. In fact, I was thinking I might have to give up my dog for adoption, because he was not getting along with my other dog. In just one lesson, Paula taught me how to speak dog and position myself as the leader of the pack. I really liked there was no shock or prong collars. My only regret I waited so long!
Don't give up ... call Paula.
