Scott has been helping us with a reactive Doberman who also has very high anxiety. After seeing her get worse we did private and group training classes but those used shock collars and we didn’t know then that we were making things so much worse and more traumatic for her. We then tried one of the top rated animal behaviorists; but they were the polar opposite. The more we paid the less they did. I felt hopeless and knew we would lose her if we had anymore biting incidents with her. I found Bark Busters and was immediately drawn to the fact that they do not use shock collars, clickers, treats or any things else you have been taught to keep your pup in line. The lady on the phone was fantastic and answered all my questions and told me about Scott. I honestly was surprised he was not working with famous people at how good he looked on paper. Scott came to our home and was so calm and patient. He listened and empathized; but then he got to work. The exercises we did during our FIRST session were already making a complete difference. He helped us with exercises and guided us as needed and left us with tips, tricks and tools to use until his next visit. He also made himself readily available if we were in crisis or needed help of any kind. I have had too many nights crying thinking I am going to have to put my Doberman baby down and now I feel such excitement and a newfound sense of confidence. Scott is honest and straightforward and will not tell you what you want to hear. He understands our crisis and how close we were to giving up. Scott is an all around professional and while he is our last ditch effort to save our dog, I full confidence that he will help us keep her happy, healthy and safe for a long time to come. Thanks Scott and thanks Bark Busters.

I am astonished! My trainer JD accomplished a miracle within the first three hours (1st visit). I have 2 behemoth american bulldog puppies weighing in at 220lbs total at 18 months--strong willed and protective. Pre JD, they walked all over me: I wasn't able to take them in my car, go on hikes with them, or walk them together.
PermalinkI am in control now of their barking and behavior. Today, my dream of walking them together at Calavera Lake came true--3 months later. I am so grateful for JD teaching ME how to be the alpha and thereby giving them more than a backyard life.

I contacted Bark Busters after seeing changes in my Frenchie that weren't resolving, regardless of what I tried. It seemed my girl was probably experiencing some type of anxiety. She had admittedly been spoiled along the way. She had become aggressive on a leash, frequently barking at the door, jumping up & down during her food prep & acting out when she didn't get what she wanted. Walks had become stressful, as I found myself regularly apologizing for her behavior.
PermalinkI'd be lying if I said I wasn't initially a bit skeptical. I appreciated the time Justin took to talk me through why their methods were successful, as it really helped reassure me. I also appreciated that Justin didn't blame me for what was happening. I felt enough guilt as it was.
It was truly amazing seeing how quickly CoCo responded! Within an hour of Justin arriving, she was responding well to my cues. She immediately walked well, with no leash aggression. She now sits quietly at my side as I prepare her meal. It's rare for her to bark at the door.
The greatest outcome has been seeing CoCo more relaxed! Frankly, I'm more relaxed. It's also incredibly reassuring that Justin is a text or phone call away! He's been very supportive.

Ruth was kind, observant and compassionate. I saw results very quickly with her hands on instruction and easy notes to help me practice. She helped me understand how my behavior and tone affects the dogs. Everyone comments on how much calmer and relaxed my boys are.

We have 2 Danes one wants to jump up on people and both like to jump up on you for treats, chewing and digging, dinner time can be challenging unless we crate them. Theresa came out and with 30 minutes of working with both Danes I could see a huge improvement! Needless to say it’s gonna take consistency on our part but we learned a lot in the 3 hours she was here, not just about them but more of what we need to do and not do she is full of knowledge and knows her stuff ! I highly recommend bark busters if you are having behavioral issues with your dog! Theresa was able to educate me so much and it was a relief to see some initial results. The lifetime guarantee for your dog makes this training option a no-brainer.

I am excited about this program. I love that they come to your home. Kevin was very friendly and personable and I felt very comfortable with him there. He answered all of my questions. He encouraged me to contact him with any concerns. He explained why the exercises will help decrease aggression and what to do while it's happening. One of my dogs barks non stop and after the first meeting, I was able to keep him from going into a frenzy. It will take some practice but Kevin requested I send videos to help him see if I'm doing it right so he can help immediately until we meet again. I would highly recommend!
